Walter Crickmer started it all...
United face Alty in a friendly at Moss Lane tonight:

Team: Fojticek, Tanner, O'Connor, Warren, Poole, Whelan, Buffonge, Hamilton, Bohui, Gomes, Dearnley

Subs: Dunne, Johnstone, Barrett, Spratt, Barlow, Boonen, Diedrick-Roberts, Sang.

United are losing 0-1 at the moment.

7:00pm kick-off

It's 0-1 at half-time.

Really good experience for the players to match themselves against an older group albeit a non-league side.

Alty will want to win so although it's billed as a friendly I expect things are pretty competitive.

Playing twice in a week is also a good learning experience. Most won't be used to that either.

Game finished 1-2 with two goalkeeping errors by Fojticek being the difference.

Second half subs Boonen for Deranley, Barlow for Hamilton, Sang for Buffonge.

Like to see more of these.

Watched the highlights on MUTV last night.

We struggled with their physicality and long ball game in the first half but were the better team in the second and could have easily scored a couple of goals.

Hamilton, Gomes and Buffonge all had really good chances and a draw would easily have been the fairest result.

Kieran McKenna after the match seemed really pleased with the performance if not the result. Our lads normally play very 'nice' vanilla type football against other Academy teams so this type of match against adults...many of them playing for contracts is a great experience.

I would like to see more of this like we use to do in the 1980's and 1990's on a regular basis.
