Welcome to the last match of Round 2 between @harshad and @Mani

There are 3 pitches

1. Batting track with no help to bowlers

2. Batting track with conditions aiding swing bowling

3. Slow Batting track aiding spin bowling

Keeping the players at their peak which of the teams would win a 3 match series with one match played in each of the above pitches

Team Harshad

B.Hogg plays where the pitch assist spinners and N.Bracken play for other two pitches.

Why I'll win.......

Batting
  • Good left /right opening and explosive batting combination of M.Hayden/M.Guptill followed by by the most reliable R.Dravid.
  • Quick running between the wickets, power hitting combined with solid finishing by AB de Villers /Yuvraj Singh/A.Symonds .
  • Imran Khan /A.Razzaq provides flexiblity in line up as they can move up or play low as the innings demands followed by tail M.Starc /B.Hogg, with the former known for some power hitting.
Bowling
  • Bowling would be spearheaded by the most reliable C.Ambrose and Imran khan, a deadly combination of swing, pace and bounce and 1st change up will be from Aussie young lefty pace men M.Starc who is well known for his tenacious Yorkers followed by A.Razzaq/N.Bracken or B.Hogg as the situation demands.
  • A.Symonds/Yuvraj singh would carry on with part time bowling job in case they are required to rotate their arms.
  • Bowling in the death overs will be shared between Imran Khan/M.Starc/C.Ambrose as their toe crushing yorkers would cause serious dent in the opponent LO batting.
Fielding
  • With outstanding fielders like de Villiers, Yuvraj and Symonds, there will very little room for the opposition to operate in as their fielding will ensure one's don't get converted to two's or three's. They will pounce on any catch and will create run out opportunities galore.
Points to take note on.

  • Inzi (If Playing) with Kohli/Root/Waugh would be catastrophic, Inzi is poor in between wickets, with AB DeVilliers/Yuvraj Singh/A.Symonds in infield it would be serious pressure on his batsmen at pitch. It's a run out waiting to happen.

  • LMO, team comprise of ADB/Y.Singh/A.Symonds is the solid and can set or chase any score as this trio's reputation speaks for them self.My LMO is better than his and are better in running between wkts, power hitters and can finish innings in great style.

  • K.Mills, IMO he's an average bowler and no where you can bring up him in all time draft which means he has to rely on part timers for 20 overs on which my middle order can take full utilisation of it.

No Inzamam ul haq? one the best chaser in the world cup history is sitting out for S.al.Hasan (ban)

Kohli already has 27 hundreds, that's mental.

 I was looking for him in the lineup and he's not there!

Most managers left him out because of his poor running between the wkt,but how can we forget his 92 world cup innings, both SF and final.

While it's an issue i do think it's overblown. Like you said he was great in 1992 and has a great record.

Problem is playing with young player like Kohli and Root who are generally good between the wickets.,you can't grind those middle overs.

No Inzy is a downer, but Lillee - McGrath - Warne
Yeah he got good 3 Aussie bowlers in his lineup, but the problem is with next 20 overs which very much going to cost some runs.

Good luck @Mani

In fact, its Joe Root who is keeping Inzi out of the game :p

Mills' record, if you cared to have a look, is similar to Imran. There I said it. I am not claiming he is as good a bowler as Imran, but to say he is an average bowler is underrating him a lot when he is the second most wicket taker for NZ, while being out of the team for being injured from time to time.

Also, what part timers, I have 5 regular bowlers who more often than not bowl their full quote of 10 overs in every match. You consider Shakib a part time bowler.

Shakib is not the part timer but he doesn't deserve place in the all time draft and I clearly say that you need to rely on part timers for your renmaning 20 overs. Miles might be second best wkt taker for NL but is not anything as effective as Bond or Hadlee.
You can always play Root but Inzy is something special :) you missed his service here.

Harshad's batting lineup looks slightly unbalanced. Steve Waugh should play at 4 or 5 and here he seems to be playing at 6, behind shakib? I don't think shakib can be an effective MO batsman for a side. Against bowlers of this quality, I'm not sure he would be reliable to do any more than pinch hitting. I'd actually have played him after Boucher too

Having a tough time deciding this one.

Agree, his batting starts of very strong then Shakib is randomly thrown in, Boucher is probably the better batsman too so should be above him. I can understand why he put Waugh at 6, that's where he normally batted. Mani's lower order is formidable but Harshad also has 3 of the best bowlers in the draft. Might have to flip a coin on this one.

McGrath and Warne
as well as Lillee

Why is this team losing
Yeah those are great bowlers but the question here is remaining 20 overs against the my LMO (Ab DeVilliers /Yuvraj Singh /A.Symonds)
