Manchester United are ready to splash £24million on Roma star Alessandro Florenzi.

The 25-year-old has caught the eye in Serie A this season and has attracted clubs' interest from around Europe.

The Italian, who can play at full-back or on the wing, has seven goals already this term and could be on the move this summer.

Indeed, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Manchester United are willing to pay £24m to land Florenzi.

The Premier League giants have dispatched scouts to watch the Italy international in recent weeks and they've been impressed by what they've seen.

Should they land Florenzi, it is reported Manchester United would deploy him as a right-back to make up for the disappointing form of Matteo Darmian.

I think the right back position should not a priority for this summer (compared with other positions). We have Varela, Darmian and Valencia; with a new manager Darmian could improve. He was playing well when he arrived... But if we go for a right back, I prefer Aurier who could be available. He is younger and already better than Florenzi for the games I have seen.

If he's can play as a proper attacking right back then it does make sense.

On the other hand for right wing we need some top class attacking talent rather than adding to numbers.

Based on the above video, his main strengths look to be: long cross field passes, pace, passion.

He's looks like a very talented player, and can cover a number of positions. But im never confident when we sign players who looked good in serie A anymore.

He is a great attacking RB, scored a beautiful goal the weekend. But dont think he would move, he is captain and Roma born, i have my doubts.

Scored a wonder goal against Barcelona.

Isn't Darmian Italy's first choice RB ahead of him?

He's a good attacking right back but wouldn't fit in with mourinhos very defensive set up, I could see him signing more of a centre back right back, someone that can contribute from set pieces

He can also play, CM, RW or LW so he can play in a few positions makes he a useful played to have in a squad

Not a good idea to buy a full back or winger from Serie A.

Yeah probably not. But it's always good to have a good versatile player in the squad who can cover multiple positions, especially with our injury luck, and since Alaba is not an option for us, why not go for him?

Florenzi is good player from what I've seen, I'm not disputing that. Think we can do better though and someone who is an actual right-back rather than another utility player.

Who'd you have in mind mate? I feel like there are a lot less great RB options than LB options right now.

Same one you like, Cancelo. Or Aurier. The latter is a tool, but a great player.

Definitely the best two options I agree, do you think PSG will get rid of Aurier over his actions, or will his quality override the manager?

No idea, really. They have a decent right-back loaned out to Nantes, if I'm not mistaken. Sabaly is his name. So they might not have that much of a problem to replace him. The problem will most likely be that a lot of teams will be interested in signing Aurier, despite his actions, because as you say, there aren't that many right-backs on that level. Probably better to ask the resident PSG fans.

I should stress that Florenzi would probably be a good signing, but Cancelo seems like exactly the sort of right-back Mourinho appreciates.

I was thinking who would be our main competition for Aurier, I'm guessing Chelsea and City in the PL and maybe Bayern in the Bundesliga? Neither of the Spanish giants need him.

I like Florenzi's attitude and athleticism, plus he's versatile so I wouldn't mind if we signed him, Cancelo has the extra size I think Jose would like.

Pretty much. Munich will definitely sign a right-back. City desperately need one. I think we have better chances with Cancelo.

It'll be interesting to see what Carlo does at Bayern as he will probably see Lahm as a youngster. :D I actually wouldn't be surprised at all if Mourinho came in and used Valencia next season as his RB, given how many other positions he needs top buy in.

I'd say enough of utility players that can play in 5 different position and are master of none.

if we need a top right winger (which we do), go for a top right winger, not a full back that can play there or the opposite.

Supposedly they are interested in Mustafi. I think they'll probably sign a centre back and a right-back, other than that, I have no idea. Not like they need much.

I agree with the second part. Most important is probably a centre-half, a central midfielder, a winger and a striker.

Yeah, they are in a great spot to just keep topping up each season, no major overhauls. Balu was saying that he thinks Kimmich might become a RB so it will be interesting.

Those are definitely the 4 priority positions, although I'm really hoping we bring in 2 CM's, I'm sick of the lumberers and ball avoiders we have in there.

The players and J-C Blanc hinted towards a comeback but Laurent Blanc will decide in the end. We will know soon enough as Aurier's sanction ends after the international break.

If we do sign Zlatan, I don't think it's very likely Aurier will follow. :p

Nope.. Not better than what we already have. Good player though.

He's quality, a 3 in 1 player. A starting RB, a emergency RW and a squad box to box mid. Great value.
