Alerts show up sporadically

As I recall, this has been going on since the latest Xenforo update. Posts in threads I'm watching are not being displayed consistently under my alert menu, but rather sporadically.

Everything is up to date (chrome, flash etc)

Is this a known issue?
 
I'm not sure if alerts are shown every time there is a new post in a watched thread, I think it may depend on your activity on the site. If you're viewing the site regularly, it won't keep alerted you. Don't hold me to that though as I don't know the specifics of how the alerts work for watched threads.

Is anyone else seeing odd behaviour with alerts?

Yes, I've seen people quoting me when I read threads when I didnt get an alert for the same. Very rare though.
 
Cheers @Niall. It's a bit strange though, I follow this thread and it had a discussion going on the past week and I only noticed said discussion a day ago when I manually navigated to make a post in it.
 
Yea I follow the F1 thread in the other sport forum, and sometimes I'll go to post something in there and there's been a bunch of posts I've not been alerted to.
 
I think there is a problem of alerts if in any single post we do something like the following.

quote somebody
reply to this person

quote somebody else
reply to this person

quote another person
reply to this person


I think this doesnt give an alert to atleast the second and third person. This can be tested quickly though. I use the chromium browser on Linux.
