Ok due to recent hard drive failures. I have lost ALL my music. I am starting from scratch. To be honest i had so much good music that i am lost!

Please recommend a particular artist or album or greatest hits and why you think its good, along with some songs to look out for and when to listen to it.
Thanks caftards!!!!

The first 2 i have downloaded are:

Nirvana:Unplugged: Gotta say this was genius. Everyone expected all the Nirvana classics and heavy guitar. Instead the boys mellowed it a little, played a few sombre and mellow covers and really used the power of voice and acoustics to deliver a truly great and memorable performance.
Songs to listen to:ALL OF THEM!!! my fave changes every time i hear the album
When to listen to it: Amidst a moment of deep thought, when alone, or at a troublesome point or in times of hardship lol

The Libertines_ Time for Heroes : A greatest hits album basically for the Libertines ie some of Barat and Dohertys' early work. The lyrical play in this album is fantastic. Some good meaningful tunes. In my opinion, the Arctic Monkeys were heavily influenced by these guys. But the slower mellow tunes really impress me with the lyrics.
Songs to watch out for: Up the Bracket, Time For Heroes, The likely lads, Dont look back into the sun, What a waster, Music when the lights go out.
When to listen to it: When you look back on your youthful times, think of the lads getting together. Or when you are in guilt for how you have treated a girl or how you have been wronged by one.

I'm assuming you tried Data Recovery services.

Purple Chick's bootleg though, it's basically just the 2004 arrangement but with the original recordings.

Good call on the Zombies by the way. Probably in my top 5 favourite albums.

Ziggy Stardust hasn't been mentioned yet, so I'll mention it.

Adding a hip-hop flavor:

Nas - Illmatic
Jay-Z - American Gangster
Common - BE
Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer

All tell a tale that the average ear can comprehend.
