Alan Shearer

Arguably one of the best strikers in the history of the English game! But how many regrets will he have when he’s sat in his chair looking at his trophies and all he has is one league medal? Apparently he didn’t even get the change to come to us, how great would our front line have been. My opinin is we should have pulled out all of the stop to get him @ OT.

What?

He had the chance - the twat turned us down.

He had the chance twice, once at Southampton where he chose Blackburn for the money (they'd won feck all at that time - and since) and Newcastle as he wasn't given much choice by Jack Walker. If we'd have got him we wouldn't have had Cantona and I know who I prefer!

He'll regret it, all right. Look what he could bave won here!

And what would that include? Maybe sending death threats to Jack Walker?

Bottom line is, Shearer chose Newcastle. If he wanted to join United so much he would, but he made his choice.

well my mate plays golf at wynyard, and he plays with mick tait, who ised to live next doot to al, and he said that both jack walker and kevin keegan blooked him from speaking to utd....

How could Kevin Keegan block him from speaking to United? Maybe you mean Kenny Dalglish? Ahem, but wasn't he out of Blackburn by then anyway?

And it would be quite interesting that he couldn't talk to United, as he did have a talk with Alex Ferguson. From some reason all he cares about was taking penalties and the number 9 shirt <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Only because the English game hasn't had many good strikers. Michael Owen is the best in recent years, and how does he compare to the Europeans? He measures up, and that's it, really.

We didn't need Shearer partly because our midfield was so good at producing the goals, and we had Eric.

You don't know your history mate. Shearer turned us down every chance he had. He deserves to have won feck all.

It's much too late now... :p
Anywayz without him we did quite well huh!

I have spoken to Shearer about him not moving to MU and it was down to him both times...nobody blocked the moves.

Having lived on Tyneside for 2 years I have learnt that for a Geordie playing for their home team means more than anything to them.

He a great player and i wish he'd not retired from international football so soon but I doubt we would have won any more trophies with Alan Shearer. Both major clubs he has been at he has been the star and they have built a team round him. Sir Alex wouldn't have done that with Alan so maybe he wouldn't have been as prolific if he'd come to us. On the whole i don't think anyone can complain with the trophy cabinet without alan ever pulling on the Red Shirt.
