Age of Empires III

i used to have it, but i lent it to my dad about 18 months ago, the cnut hasnt given it back yet
 
Ok, no-one's answered the fecking question yet!

Is it a good game?!
 
Its alright, but not a patch on AoE2. If you want an RTS get AoE2 and expansion. My favourite game of all time, and thats included the FF's and COD4 etc. Hectic can I get a demonoid code from you?

Make sure you get it with the expansion, its about 15 years old so its a small game relatively speaking. Its also immense and the game play is far superior to AoE3
 
What's the expansion called?

You better be right Smashed. I just stopped the download for AoE3 in order to get this version.
 
Age of empires 2 was fecking awesome. Spent hours playing it, never played Age of empires 3 though.
 
Age of Conquerors. I am right Hectic. Have faith. To be honest you should just continue downloading AoE3 though because you can buy AoE2 and expansion for a fiver these days.
 
Too late, I've already deleted the 10 out of the 20 files I downloaded. That's faith! Downloading the expansion now.
 
You'll want the no cd crack, luckily that comes with e patch, which is the patch you need to play online so you can pretty much find it anywhere.
 
Yep. I had it all lined up and ready to go. Ran Deamon Tools and the spacca was in Spanish. I clicked 'si' to everything and managed to freeze my laptop.

Lesson learnt. Don't download Spanish games if you can't understand Spanish.
 
Can't you download some programme to teach you Spanish and then just plug it into your brain, like the matrix? Because that's pretty much how I imagine you to function

I'll call that and raise you Final Fantast 6, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9 and Final Fantasy 10. ;)

Age of Empires is no RPG but i used to waste hours of my life on it!
 
Age Of Empires III was not bad... better graphics but it wasn't that good as Age Of Empires II.

Warcraft III Frozen Throne is great... They should make another chapter of this game, so it will be the best fantasy RTS, again.
 
Surprised no one has mentioned the obvious c&c. Got the c&c3 expansion the other day, its brilliant.
 
AoE2 is a classic, TC is really a balance patch.

However Rise of Nations is the pinnacle of evolution of the classic Age of Empires style/inspired games. I do not consider AoE3 to be related to AoE1 or AoE2 in anything but name.

Those are probably my two favorite RTS games of all time going back to the original Dune and the first real clone C&C and C&C RA.

Rise of Nations also has a very good single player AI. It can be fecking challenging. I remember playing what was supposed to be a 20 minute 2v2 AI stomp with a buddy of mine when we first got it. The game turned into a 6 hour attrition slog fest.
