Somewhat of a sequel to wandavison I suppose but hasn't been marketed as such.

First two episodes dropped yesterday, I thought they were great.

It's painfully obvious teen is wiccan, which makes me think there's a swerve coming
.

Im still surprised this was made / released based on the song from Wandavision being popular at the time. Ill get to watching it as its got Aubrey Plaza

It was greenlit when Disney was willing to make anything and everything to pump out content for Disney+

After terrible reception and viewing figures for things like Secret Invasion and Echo and some of their movies like the Marvels they've dialled it back but still went ahead and made Agatha as I guess it was already far along in the production pipeline

The first episode was not good, imo.

Agatha as the cop was actively annoying.

The second was much better, and I think I’ll like the group dynamic.

Aubrey Plaza as an evil witch does things to me

This looks very promising so far, I've really enjoyed it. Kathryn Hahn is great and Aubrey Plaza in anything is a must-watch.

Hopefully they'll stick to the unique vibe just like they did with Loki and don't turn it into another borefest closer to the end of the season like they did with Wandavision (that show had a great concept even though many on here didn't like it but the second part of the season when they've tried to tie it together with the rest of the MCU was horrible).

I didn't love episode one, not least due to Kathryn Hahn, who I thought was pretty poor. Also, she was doing a strange duck face type thing with her lips, which I found distracting.

I'll probably try episode two. I like Aubrey Plaza, she was great in Criminal Minds and Legion.

And here was me thinking this was going to be a debate over who was the prettiest ABBA member. Agnetha or Anna-Frid

Obviously Agnetha all along and was ready to place my vote

Please tell me you've seen parks and rec.

What did you think was poor about Kathryn Hahn?

I liked the first 2 episodes, especially the second once the "crew" was all assembled.

Agree with your spoiler
They are obviously leading us to believe that is Wiccan. I would not be shocked if it's another "Quicksilver" mislead. But, if it is him we have pretty much the last Young Avenger other than Hulkling? To be introduced to the MCU. And if it's ONLY him where is his brother?

I've enjoyed the three episodes. It's been fun and a change as mentioned above
Hopefully we don't get some big CGI fightfest at the end.

Needs more Aubrey plaza

Oh I get that. It's just funny it was due to that song that it became a thing.

I've watched the first 3 episodes and will probably finish it but I dunno if I'm getting too old for this. Shit feels more Disney like than any other Marvel show before it IMHO. Annoying teen included. The further they stray from the OG heroes timeline the more far fetched it seems to me.

I'm not a comic book reader anymore but I read up on the wiki sometimes and ffs in some ways creating comics must be very easy. You just come up with whatever random powers and links to other characters to fit whatever timeline you re trying to fit it in with.

I'm the same. Found myself checking my phone throughout the third episode which is a really bad sign.. i feel 30-50 year old football heads aren't really the target audience for this one  Maybe If Hahn and Plaza start lezzing out it might pull us in

I know this is in jest, but you realise that says more about you than it does Disney/the show?

They significantly underutilize Plaza so far. She’s obviously going to take the place of the late Mr. Hart but that’s two episodes without her already

Maybe but then I really enjoyed Ms Marvel. I thought the Pakistani family dynamic was great and Kamala became one of my favourites of the last few phases despite it not being catered to me.

Its still early days with Agatha it could end up being good but it's very disconnected from the MCU and I think that makes it harder to care what's happening you know?

Interesting I thought more people wanted more stuff not related to the overall story and tied up

Binge watched the first 7 episodes and it’s a lot better than I thought it’d be. It’s genuinely pretty good.

The last was very well written I though. Final 2 episodes next week.

Yep. Been very impressed with this show but so much crap has been released, a lot of people won't give it a chance.

That’s why it’s taken me so long to watch it. I’ve pretty much given up on comic book movies as a whole, especially the whole DC and Marvel universes. After the end of the whole Avengers Infinity Arc, things took such a massive nosedive, a once beloved franchise lost its lustre. It was either one C list character or teen protagonist after another. I’ve been pretty much done for a long time.

But my daughter and I have a long bond over Marvel, mainly Thor and GOTG, so she wanted to watch Agatha All Along together because she quite liked Scarlett Witch, and as this was tangentially related, I said okay. She ended up falling asleep three episodes in, and I binged it to the end

Quite grateful she made me watch it now. Does restore a tiny bit of faith that Marvel can still release some content that appeals to grown ups. I’m not particularly enthused by their upcoming slate, but this is at least a step in the right direction.

I don’t think it’s quite at the level of Loki or the majority of Wanda but it’s good and the last episode was very good.
Think it's the 3rd best series they've released but for my I actually have it over wondervison. No, it's not better than Loki though.

This is obviously not including X-Men 97 which is goated.

Yeah I wasn’t expecting anything amazing and I’ve really enjoyed it, not high class tv but it doesn’t need to be. This and The Penguin have provided some quality tv the last few weeks.

I ended up being very happy with the writing and handling of the characters. And you can tell with the same showrunners from WandaVision which also had some of the best writing and character building of the MCU shows that it translated to this. You end up wanting to see more of these characters.

Wiccan was done very well and there is so much room for wanting to see more and link up with the rest of the Young Avengers. For people not familiar with his comics character this is how you introduce these lesser known to mainstream audiences. I felt like they did the same with Monica Rambeau and Agatha herself in Wandavision.

I didn't like it.
I was enjoying it enough from minute to minute. It just felt shallow and pointless when all was said and done. Like i dont know what they were trying to say or what the point of the story was. Just felt like they wanted to set up / sell a billy maximoff series next. They'll get there and do nothing with the story and just use it to set up 2 more characters.

I really enjoyed this series, right up until the double finale, which I thought was stupid. Felt like they undid a lot of the good work they had performed up to that point, with one or two stupid plot decisions. The quality of the finale(s) was as good as the rest of the series, I just took issue with certain plot devices.

Yes!
Some lazy, lazy shit in there. The cliffhanger end in one episode with 3 characters being thrown off the road which is handwaved away the next. The mystery not revealing teen - i didn't care, no idea who character is and i was binge watching it so it was a case of 'i'll find out in an hours time'. Just a lot of gimmicky, generic annoyances.
If i was trying to be fair and disregarding the oceans of weak marvel stuff this is being released into i'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. Solid performances throughout, script was bordering on decent, looked very cool in parts. It just really annoyed me and felt like a bit of a waste of time to the point it felt like a 2/10.

I see what you mean that it wasn't addressed immediately the next episode. But they did completely revisit it and fully explain what happened. I probably have a bias for Wiccan especially and what could come one of my favorite comic MCU relationships. So I can see me being more hype for it than others.

It wasn't how quickly it was addressed. It wasn't threatening, it meant i could disregard any sense of jeopardy.

Pointless show. Like the road, the whole show was a circle leading to nothing The Road song was absolutely terrible. Kathryn Hahn was told to make the most cartoonish faces and looked ridiculous making them. I hung on because of Aubery Plaza but she wasn't very good either.

That's all Marvel does and the fans continue to fall for it. Just show after show where nothing happens to the main characters and is really designed to create a spinoff for the minor characters.

You get that show and they do the exact same thing again.

I would wonder how they keep getting away with it but trump just persuaded people to vote for him again so I know how stupid most people are

Hate this criticism of tv shows/movies.

All tv shows are pointless.
