Rolled out of bed at 11 on the dot after a heavy night ready for kickoff and MUTV are showing the old Captains Log documentary. Anyone got any idea why? Assume the game's been called off for some reason...

They've been trailing live coverage though I'm sure, assume there must be a reason they cancelled it.

Even says it on the website "Watch United U18s' next match against Leeds live and exclusive on MUTV from 10:45 BST on Saturday 5 September."

Ah, pity. Knowing Leeds fans they probably couldn't guarantee the MUTV cameraman's safety.

Good that the game's still on though (presumably).

Finished 2-2, we equalised in the last minute. Our #11 scored the first goal (I assume Brady's away with Ireland so not sure who that would be), they equalised from an own goal.

U16s lost 4-1 apparently. This is garnered from a Leeds forum, and I could feel my IQ rapidly dwindling and my knuckles inching towards the floor with every second I spent on there so didn't hang around for any further info.

Cheers for the info.

It seems like the other Empoli lad has signed, this is from the Mail (quite a good read Manchester United and other English clubs insist they have done nothing wrong as Europe's clubs vent fury over poaching of youngsters | Mail Online )

'UEFA president Michel Platini is in talks with the European Commission, hoping to introduce a ban on the transfer of players under the age of 18 by 2011. But it will be too late for Empoli director Giuseppe Vitale, whose teenage stars Alberto Massacci, 16, and Manuel Pucciarelli, 18, joined United last month. Vitale said:

'We are not happy. Manchester United do this kind of thing a lot because they know our regulations in Italy, whereby we cannot put our youth players on lucrative contracts. They didn't speak to us about our players. It is not right and they know it is not right.

'Platini must change the law so that when a big club come in and try to rob - and that is the right word, rob - us of our players, they must pay us a decent amount of money.''

Tunnicliffe was the player who scored the own goal it seems.

Ravel Morrison scored the first teeing himself up for a volley after a very good run by John Cofie. Tunnicliffe scored a screamer of an o.g. into the top corner from the edge of the box attempting a clearance. Leeds hit us on the break and scored from a cross. In injury time Larnel coles corner was won by Cofie who beat the keeper in the air and flicked the ball on for Zeki Fryers to finish

It was a cracking finish by Tunnicliffe!!

From the highlights it seemed a typically niggly game. Morrison was maybe lucky to still be on the pitch (although he did seem to be targeted by the Leeds players). He seemed to be the main player for us and on another day would have had a hat trick by half time when we looked by far the better team, Leeds creating very little.

The og and the subsequent goal on the break (when Reece Brown was injured and in the opponents half when they scored from a cross at the far post - where he would have been) changed the game and some poor finishing and good saves by Devlin kept us in it. We finished strongly though and deserved at least a draw on the first half showing.
