1 nil after 2 mins John Cofie scored

The first was a ball over the top by Hussain which Cofie over powered the defender and finished very well and the second was a cross by Ajose which Tunnicliffe miskicked when shooting and fell to brady at the back post and he smashed it into the top corner.

3-0. Ball down the middle flicked on by Cofie to King who rounded the keeper very calmly and finished well.

This lad was excellent in the Milk Cup. Good to see King and Cofie scoring, have been impressed with both, we seem to have stronger striking options in the youth team this season.

Is N'goo still with us?

Ngoo was around during the reserve-match on thursday, at least I thought I heard Crerand say that - so I think he is around still

The academy-team we have this season is so strong that we should do great both in the league and in the FA Youth Cup. There simply is no excuse not for performing well this time. And for once - we seem to have no weak spots like we did last season (a few very slow defenders)

Ngoo was sat on the bench, yeah.

Great first-half performance, think I'm right in saying Spurs won their Group last season and made the final (and only went out of the FAYC to Arsenal?) so to be 3-0 up against them away from home at HT is hugely encouraging. Some fantastic counter-attacking so far.

Yeah they scored over 80 goals last season and their goal difference was +49. Parrett also played for their first team last year.

Ngoo's ambling back out from the changing rooms with the team so that answers that one.

Disappointing lapse in concentration after HT again, Spurs pull one back. Looked like an OG to me (Brown maybe?).

Spurs get a goal back 3-1 now. King very dangerous every time he gets the ball

PS18, how do you always manage to cover these games? Do you post on a blackberry from the match, or do you just watch a lot of MUTV :D

Games like this it's MUTV, would love to but couldn't justify the expense of a trip to London to watch the U18s at this point in my life :D. Use my phone for the more local ones though.

Still 3-1 lysglimt, been a pretty even half, Spurs edged the first half of the half but we've probably been the better side again in the last 20 minutes or so. 5 minutes to go, pretty comfortable now.

Larnell Cole coming on for King, who's been labouring a bit in the last 15.

Next time I go to Manchester I have to go to an academy game...would be fun to see!

By the way, am I right in thinking that Macheda is still technically eligible for the u18s? Or was his birthday just before the cut-off?

Isn't it 31st of august which is the limit ? he is born august 22nd

Adem Ljajic should be eligible though

Cut-off September 1st so he's not eligible. He's a third-year now so he could play as an over-age player if required (as could Welbeck, James, Norwood, Stewart etc).

Finishes 3-1, very impressed. Almost as impressed by the way we took the sting out of the game second half as the way we tore them apart first half. Some brilliant possession football at the end there, Spurs were chasing shadows.

A lot of last year's Spurs academy team has been dispersed now - out on loans to various lower league clubs in line with a new club policy. It's nowhere near as strong as before.

We could have a hell of a side in the FA Youth Cup (we do need to reach round 4 to get Ljajic to play though)

for instance:

Devlin, Fryers, McGinty, Wootton, Brown, Brady, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Ljajic, Cofie and King :)

I'm convinced that Spurs goal is an o.g. from our defender on the line, not sure a Spurs player gets near it. Think it was Wootton, can't remember which of McGinty and Wootton was wearing 4.

Wootton was 4

Are there streams available for academy games these days or are the less fortunate of us restricted to watching the reserves?

Player ratings would be lovely, lads.

Only caught the second half of this, but I was very impressed with the likes of Tunnicliffe, King, Brady and Ajose.

Cofie's a brick shithouse! :D It was funny how the defender (who wasn't slight) just bounced off him before he got his goal.

John Cofie? Built like a brick shithouse? His name is pronunced like coffee, but spelled differently?

Hmmmmm...
