Worth starting a new thread or not? The other one seems to have got caught up in a discussion about Sterling.
U18s set for cup clash
United’s Under-18s are in FA Youth Cup fifth round action tonight against Newcastle at Moss Lane.
Paul McGuinness’s young charges have already seen off Portsmouth 3-2 in the third round, with goals from Paul Pogba and Will Keane (the other was an own goal), and a fourth round win away to West Ham at Upton Park – where Keane was again on target in a 1-0 triumph.
Newcastle beat Ryman League Division One South club Dulwich Hamlet’s youth team 6-2 in the third round, before going on to defeat Grimsby Town 2-1 in the last round.
The two teams are playing for a place in the quarter-finals away to Liverpool, who secured their passage to the last eight with a 9-0 victory over Southend, Raheem Sterling bagging five goals for the Anfield Reds.
United will be hoping to recover from a 5-1 league loss to Crewe Alexandra at the weekend, but the nature of the defeat – a host of missed chances and several breakaway goals for the Railwaymen, should provide plenty of motivation to get a result against the Magpies.
