Manchester United v Charlton Athletic
Wednesday, 29th February 2012, 19.00
Old Trafford, Manchester

Sutherland - Grimshaw, Ioannou, McCullough, Blackett - Rudge, Daehli, Hendrie - Barmby, Byrne, van Velzen.

Jacob, Ekangamene, Wilson, Rowley, Gorré.

Forget the internationals, it's the FA Youth Cup quarterfinal tonight!

on mutv?

Cheers for the reminder! Can't wait.

No problem, I'll send you PMs before the kick-off.

But unfortunately, I'm watching Poland v Portugal tonight (not really forget the internationals then...), so if anyone wants a PM with the stream, use Google or PM Elliott or FT!

Hi Maciek,

Can you PM too? Much appreciated.

Looking forward to this now.

Whatever happens tonight we need to remember a few things about this team; one is that the team is very young, on average nearly two years younger than last years group.

Then there is the fact that the majority of our lads are quite small and not very physically imposing. Most teams they have played this year, especially in the league, have had success against us mainly due to the fact we aren't as big and strong as them and this has become one of our weaknesses. Only Blackett, Mcculloch and GVV offer us good height and strength from tonight's team sheet. Last year one of our strengths was physicality so thats another thing to look at when comparing these lads to last years.

Also, unfortunately we have been hit by lots of injuries this season (just like the first team:nervous:) and we are missing several key players. Lawrence, Rothwell, Januzaj, and Love are all some of our very best prospects from this team and all would of played tonight if fit. Then there is other good players who are injured such as Weir and Pearson.

We have some great little players in this group who like to play neat football, but still have there weaknesses at the moment and a lot to learn still. The lads have done fantastic to get this far already but whatever happens this group wont peak till late next season and a lot of improving can be done between now and then. If we do have a bad night tonight these are just some factors to help keep our perspective.

I take it Rothwell is still injured, anybody know when he'll be back?

Rudgeshould have scored. Good stuff by Blackett. Daehli coming into the game more and more now aswell.

Barmby! What fecking ambition from there.

1-0 for the record

1-1 reminds me of the Wolves game. We play good football and go up, then a lucky break ball falls to a big strong player and the teams are level.

Barmbys goal was a fantastic strike.

1-1 now, Charlton just scored. good move and a shot from outside the area, Sutherland gets a good save but he pushes the ball up in the air rather than to the side, that giant Charlton striker nods it home.

We need a bit of Wilson, he'll run rings around them on such a big pitch.

Yup still 1-1 almost 73min gone. We playing good at times, nice triangles being mad to get out of danger. Charlton playing the counter. No clear cut chances, Sam Byrne was played in by a lovely ball from Barmby right side of the box, Bryne then forced a good save as he tried to drive it low at the far post. Barmby also got a power shot off just there from a similar position.

the way Daehli is on the ball is  the way he dummies the ball and turns on the ball reminds me of Scholes that way.

Bah my stream is gone wank, I think it was our RB who swung in a fantastic ball to the backpost, Van Velsen nods it in. Really was a supurb cross.

ffs  2-2 that Silva fella again. Ball falls to him outside the box and he hits it hard and low past the stretching Sutherland.

Early to say I know and an old article but is Daehli living up to his hype?

New Manchester United signing Mats Moller Daehli is a 'little bit of Xavi and a little bit of Messi' says coach - Goal.com

He has shown flashes of what he can do tonight. He looks fairly composed on the ball and a great talent. Will be turning 17 later this week, so think he is a year younger than alot in the Academy.........I think.

And according to the article I posted he is guaranteed a pro contract.
