There isn’t a bigger compliment you can give a football club than being disliked by their rival supporters, and we’re disliked more than most being the biggest & most popular football club in the land. This also means there are plenty of ABU’s in the media, so I thought I’d create a thread to name & shame these very ABU’s in the media.

This week’s title of the most hostile & bitter ABU-er in the media, as well as the title of new Lord Mayor of Ipswich, goes to Chris Sutton…

Is this what we're supposed to be outraged by? How dare he make some pretty good points about us adopting to a new system and take a punt on us drawing?

I am guessing this is Amorim's first visit to Ipswich and he will probably be a bit underwhelmed, because there are much nicer cities in East Anglia to visit.

It's not the ideal place for him to get started with Manchester United either.

Ipswich's win at Tottenham will give them real belief and they have had three draws already at home, so they will be competitive, especially if United are adapting to a new system - a lot of their players are coming back from international duty and haven't had time to work with Amorim.

United will have some defending to do because Sammie Szmodics is lively up front and Liam Delap is a handful too - his stats for goal involvements, including assists, is really impressive. Ipswich just need to stop being so careless defensively. If they do that, they could get something from this game.

Everyone else is probably going to put Amorim to start with a win, but I am going for a draw.

After all the excitement and the hype about the apparent upgrade, then it is unthinkable for United to lose to the Tractor Boys, but imagine if they do drop points?

Sutton's prediction: 1-1

Excuse me, but I didn’t realize this has been done before. I usually don’t post in the football forum because it’s full of tossers like you.

...the actual MU forums have much more of these, and they're always just as dull, regardless of OP. I'm not particularly sure why the specific forum should matter much here, but here's a large, active thread from this one all the same:
"ABU Pundits"

I should also say I don't actually believe you regarding the General Football Forum: you seem to post here all the fecking time.

How many posts have I made in the football forum the past 12months?

How's that ABU?

There has been excitement and hype about us appointing Amorim. It's an apparent upgrade only at this stage because we don't know how it will pan out. Unthinkable that we'll lose somewhat hyperbolic as stranger things have happened but I don't think a lot of people are expecting that and neither is he. Imagine if it's a draw? His 1-1 prediction is one of the most likely results with the bookies along with United 2-1 and 2-0- wins. 1-1 is statistically the most common result in all football matches.

The only ones hyping up Amorim are Sutton’s colleagues in the media. Using words like ‘apparent’ and then setting the narrative that it’s unthinkable for us not to beat Ipswich or else.. even before Amorim has actually had his first game in charge, is a pathetic & biased ABU comment. Sutton hates us with a passion, that’s the reality.

Sutton has predicted us to lose almost every match ever since he took over from Mark Lawrenson on the BBC predictors.

He was even doing it when we were on the really good run under Ten Hag. If he'd been correct last season we'd have finished 5th from bottom I think

I can't believe people still fall for the likes of Chris Sutton & Talksport's schtick.

They are deliberately annoying and contrary so that people listen, watch and make threads on Redcafe about them.

Just ignore them.

I'll never forget Sutton making snide "Amorim isn't going to United, why would he want to go there when City are interested" type comments about 10 minutes before it was announced we were in talks with Amorim.

You'd think people would be wise to this by now. You can't take anything the likes of Gabby Agbonlahor seriously, he's playing a character to a degree.

The biggest ABU is Goldbridge.... think about it....

If United get good again he'll lose 90% of his audience... he'll be desperate for United to remain shite

Can I suggest you just start avoiding this tripe.

Nothing new to see here. It’s Chris Sutton…and the BBC

Everyone knows the role Sutton plays. And it's not just against United, he was a menace in Scotland too.
Not quite sure what appeal he offers to anyone though.

Keown is another bitter, although it's been interesting listening to him doing the podcast rounds recently. Firstly because he seems to remember himself as a "great" player, rather than the 5th man in the famous Arsenal back 4 and secondly because certain hosts insist he's a "great" guy despite his moronic football behaviour.

If anyone gives a damn about anything these professional WUMs and click generators spout then you get what you deserve.

The opposite to how Neville underplays his own playing career and falsely thinks that Trent Alexander-Arnold (who can’t even fecking defend) is a better player than himself.
