Manchester United and Nantes are reportedly ready to sign a partnership deal.
The French First Division side are believed to be keen to finalise the arrangement which would see them link with United in the same way Arsenal and St Etienne and Liverpoool and Le Harve have joined forces.
Nantes director Robert Budzynski confirmed: 'We are in advanced talks with Manchester United but nothing is finalised yet.
'As far as I can see there really is a mutual interest.'
It is also reported than United are monitoring the progress of Nantes left back Sylvian Armand as Sir Alex Ferguson tries to bolster his playing squad.
United were close to signing left back Julien Escude from Rennes during the summer, and the Old Trafford boss seems to have signalled out that position as one which needs strengthening.
