23 July 2002 - Carrington, official training ground of Manchester United Football Club; historic razor manufacturer, Wilkinson Sword, today announces a global 4-year sponsorship and licensing deal with world renowned football club, Manchester United.
This exciting partnership opens a new category within Manchester United, as Wilkinson Sword becomes the football club's first ever official grooming partner.
The global deal sees the partnership with Manchester United launch today in the UK, and then roll out across 11 additional Wilkinson Sword international territories with an established fan base over the next 2 years. These incorporate: N Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scandinavia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, North America and South Africa.

As part of the deal, international territories will be enhancing the Manchester United experience amongst its fan base via a series of marketing-led initiatives which could include: retail link-ups, media partnerships, online activity and involvement in the Manchester United global tours.
