As the new year is upon us & the site has grown from strenght to strength, are we going to see something done about the 'foul' language on posts.. I'm no goody goody myself, but my son & his friends are Utd mad & are at the age where they understand whats written, and often read the forums. Ok, the banter etc is always amusing - but certain posters seem the need to enagage in arguments using foul language constantly.

I also read an article in a national paper about this as a comment in general about chat forums.. Its is the only thing that lets the forum down.

any serious comments??

I swear too much KK and i apologise for that...

Sometimes i just forget.

i don't have a major problem as we all swear, its just something my boy asked - why do people write 'naughty words'!! don't ask me how a 7 year old knows how to spell them though!!!

I just think it ruins, what is otherwise an excllent forum..Most of us can express feelings without the need for such language when writing posts.

I agree with kankan as well on the issue of vulgarities.

Although watching forum members engage in petty squables is pretty interesting, it somehow always ends up with 'fuk you cnut/twat/etc' and stuff along that line. From personal experience, I seem to have been subconciously influenced by the forum, saying foul words more often than I need to in real life, although I don't actually type it out on the forum.

I think there's a limit to it,I hold my hands up and admit I say my fair share of vulgar words but I believe there is a limit to it.

Of course if you have nothing else to say except vulgar words, you shouldn't be on here

Feck that.

You've only 'kin been here five minutes yourself.

Bloody newbies.

In that case there should be a kids forum, pile the little snot bags in there and let them play kissy games in there. Too many children on here as it is.

Merry Xmas.

:)

Yes, start acting like a responsible parent and DONT let your son onto a forum where you KNOW that there is a good chance that he could come across bad language.

its a good point,
my son is 7 and has sometimes come up behind and read whats been written here,
Its a real laugh hearing him say some of the words

B-I-N-G-O

I am one kid who hasn't been scared off due to the amount of vulgar words here

:D

  when I looked at the first post I did wonder how long it would be before it descended into a slanging-match,

5 posts.

Well done Nate    sorry kankan mate we're a bunch of cnuts and there's nowt anyone can do about it!

Anyway what's wrong with kids swearing? As long as they can hold it together in job interviews etc, wat's the problem?

I've got a 9 nad a 6 yo and they come home from school every day with swear words. We can't blame internet fora for it. My kids are always on the net, fortunately ther's no bad language on Transformers Armada web sites, I watch the sites they are on, if bad language became an issue I would tell them it's wrong, like the bad language at school.

They'd probably tell me to feck off. ;)

The Internet is crapped with perverts and you tell us, frustrated adult ppl at the Red cafe, to stop swearing? Oh shut up

If you want your baby not to hear swear words then close him into a bulb, send here into the Himalayas where he can live with the Dalia Lama and his loony friends. You cannot protect your baby from the swearing because its intrinsic in the western civilization, so live with it.

And if you want to try this desperate crusade, the first thing you should do is to stay with your child whenever he goes on the net. As stated before there are many pervs around, and leaving your son alone to their mercy is more dangerous than hearing some swear words from us
