A question.....

Now, I've been doing a bit of reading and studying recently, and it's about Cell BE and associated technologies. Now, I never know where to stick things such as this, general or entertainment forums (it used to be so simple before). If it's pure technology and nothing to do with games or films or other home uses, do I stick it in the general? If it has the slightest sniff of anything to do with those things it goes in the entertainment?

It's very confusing.

Can we have a technology forum please? :p

I am now expecting an infraction point for wasting admin time.
 
No, well, I then could have made a forum myself. It seems that I was a little rash in deleting myself in hindsight, but in the long run it probably was for the best.

Once the forum war was over, my existence as an admin here became slightly pointless, as my focus shifted towards things that I feel are inherently wrong with the forum in general, whereas most do not see them to be a problem. There is no point trying to break a stone with an egg, you will lose.

In what context are you talking here? There is a lot of recent stuff I've been reading about not just the PS3 but the Cell in general, but I do not know where to post it. It includes it being used as a server (the PS3), it includes information I have studied from the recent developer's conference in Brighton and information the Killzone2 developers have provided, it includes stuff IBM have been doing with rendering on Cell Blade servers connected to PS3s as the visual output device, it includes special computer boards that Sony Electonics division are making (Not Sony Computer Entertainment, but Sony Inc.) to do high level computing tasks and 4x HDTV resolution stuff, yes 4000 pixel wide graphical outputs, using the RSX to do maths not only graphical stuff, etc.

I simply do not know where to post this stuff or if people would be interested in any case.

I'm a Cell junky, not a PS3 one. PS3 is just one product that uses it.

Weeeeelll, they're trying to do some things to carry on your work, but without deleting everyone in sight. A happy medium?

I'm with you on certain things - you might not remember a couple of years ago I used to post 'Weaste For Mod' in all the retarded threads in the football forums.

Now I'd get banned for spamming. ;)
 
I never used to delete everyone in sight. In fact, I only ever actually deleted Dubai Devil, Myself, and some other cnut I cannot remember the name of. As a mod do you have access to the banned list? I was not the most active on that front. Most people that got a ban from me were on a temporary basis. I never believed in that "have a PM word with them" crap! It should always be done in public in my opinion, then people know why it happened. If you go and steal something from a shop, the police should not have a word in your ear and give you a slap on the wrist behind closed doors. You should be publicly flogged for it with a cat o' nine.

I mean banning when I say delete, of course. And I know you were blamed for a lot you didn't do. It was all too easy this time last year to just say the word "Weaste" and see everyone go mad.

I understand what you're saying, I just think that a word sometimes can go a long way.
 
We all know the reputation I got which got blown totally out of proportion over on RR. Yes, those that are now on SA I did probably can 90% of, but even RR has now got rid of that scum. I could say many things, but even certain RR posters were let back on here through my efforts (of which other admin were always praised for when they had feck all to do with it). Why I bothered mind I do not know, because the feckers only "grace" this forum when they are either bored or they have "technical difficulties".
