is what we need. Personally I would go for Rustu, Van Buyten, Quaresma/Duff and Paddy Kluivert. It's looking pretty likely that Barthez is on his way and with Wes being injured we need another defender for sure. We don't really have any wide players other than Giggs and Beckham, and obviously Ruud needs a full-time partner.

I've heard lots of good things about Van Buyten and even if it takes him a while to settle I think he could become a solid player for us. Quaresma or Duff would give us that extra something and Kluivert would make Ruud the perfect partner.....on this pitch of course

About Daniel Van Buyten, this morning the price (stated by his club) is 22,5 M€ (ie 16 M£).
l'OM plan not to sell him this year because Frank Leboeuf (other CB) is leaving.

I do think Daniel VB is one of the best CB in Europe actually, he's young (25) and he wants to play CL with l'OM. he scored 8 goals this season

But as usual, it could be just a question of money ...

He's the kind of player we need for the champions league. Apparently he's versatile and can play in midfield too. Would be perfect reserve/replacement for Keane in the big CL games.
