For the Forlan supporters out there! Commemorate his first goal at Old Trafford by having this as your desktop wallpaper as a show of support to the one and only, Diego!

I'm sure if it had been teddy you'd be happy
O Shea, rather!

Donaldinho, don't let them confuse you!
You were right the first time - it's Pugh ( see shorts bearing no.26 - unless they switched shorts! )

You like it like that don't you Penny?
Has someone superimposed Karel Poborsky's head on to Forlans shoulders??

Come to think about it, he looks similiar from the photo, Father Ted!
Hope for Forlan's sake that it doesn't translate to him having a similiar experience at OT, & a similiar fate subsequently!

He has always come across as a good natured bloke.

Agreed. That's probably what I most liked about that game. After all the talk of rifts in the squad, etc. in a won game many of them (e.g. Becks, Veron) actually seemed to be putting even more effort than earlier into it in order to give Diego scoring opportunities (Veron even seemed to be more concerned about tackling and winning the ball back the closer the final whistle was with the Duck still standing).

If you can structure sentences properly (which seems very doubtful - I am an average Joe Soap working 9-5 and would offer to help you if you were someone who actually possessed some reasoning abilities. Em......why are you a teacher by the way ? Will you teach me how to structure sentence in such a fashion ? Goody Goody I can't wait.
Oh and yeah............just summarise what you wrote will you, I'm really not arsed reading it all. I saw all the faces at the bottom and assumed you had resorted to a piss take.

Very Poor sentence structure. Overelaborateness in high quantity, filled with a lot of Jargon. Could possibly have been put into one decent sentence ? You'll be getting a D grade for that one young lady.

In a number of postings this year I have actually praised Andy and pointed out what a good player he was.

Bad sentence structure once again. Take note that usage of the word "YOU" between "If" & "Read" would have made all the difference. No point in talking about what you have written 1 year ago. I believe I responded to a post you wrote in the past 30 minutes, which inevitably means I can only extract what you wrote there and then and comment on it. See my above post and perhaps try reading it again ? Great exercise if you haven't grasped an arguement first time around.

You won`t find me writing off our lads just because they have been mediocre this year compared to their usual very high standards.

Em.........you just did. You have stamped a seal on Forlan's fate. He has no future according to you - Oh you're ruthless. Do you treat your students like this ? Are you in the army ? Come on be honest, we're all friend here.

Doesn't make it any more valid than if you were on your own

Diego is not cutting it at present, irrespective of the 7 or so games. He has been a good player in other environments but I don`t think he is suited to the Premiership, just as Karel Poborsky was not and just as a number of other United players were not.

Very very poor point, lacking weight and substance. I'm surprised that a teacher would make such a statement and expect a response, however I guess I'll try and make sense of your point (even though I may have difficulties along with all that other things you gently suggested )Forlan and Porborsky look like each other, that's the only thing they have in common. Why even mention Karel ? This goes to even further my point. You're putting Forlan in the Karel box, the has beens, the tried & tested but failed. Not cutting it IRRESPECTIVE ? Surely the amount of games you play puts into perpective how well you have played. If this were not the case, David May could come on for 3 games, play a 3 crackers and then get player of the season. You can not say that Forlan is not "Cutting it" irrespective of the 7 games ! Irrespective means "Existing or considered without respect or regard to something else" but the fact that the amount of games he has played is very much related to the the amount of goals he has scored(heard of ratio as a teacher love ?)your above point is completely invalid. So lads and lassies, we have an announcement - the next United played to come into OT has 7 games to prove if he is suited to the PL ! Everyone in on this one !?! Why do I hear no replies ???!!!! This is a GREAT way to judge players !!!!

Unfunny personal shot that really has no significance in this arguement to begin with, given the clear fact that the above statement makes no clear or rational sense. Needless to say it's equally unture

I want to see Diego getting among the goals. If he goes for many games without a goal then there is little point in playing him instead of someone else who could get among the goals.

Is 7 games too many ?
Originally posted by giggsgirl:
As for Ruud, he is not going through a productive patch but at least he and Ole are known goal scorers. They have proved themselves before. Diego has yet to and I think Webber should be given a chance.

So if Diego has not proven himself and has only played 7 games why are you writing him off ?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the most amusing post I have read in a while. Hysteria never proves the point it wants to - all it does is show up an irrational, childish tantrum for what it is.

Once again we see a unnecessary section of your post dedicated to cheap whit. I doubt this was funny at all and you were just wondering what to do with the rest of your long winded post that never really hit home the way you wanted it to. If it was that funny I would, once again, question your ability to have a good time. Perhaps hysteria doesn't prove the point but either does pomposity.
Now after clearing all that up, what is your problem with Diego Forlan ? I really would like a sensible reply rather than what you have attempted to write so far. Come on, you're a teacher, you can do it !

Maybe your job is laying red herrings as you still haven`t explained your dummy spit against a post that doesn`t happen to think Diego Forlan is the answer to providing goals for Manchester United.

My "Dummy Spit" was as a result of reading what you wrote about Diego Forlan. I didn't agree with what you wrote, and felt that you have drawn up your conclusion based on very little evidence. Now maybe it's me, but I sure as heck have read & heard a lot of people getting on his back, and I genuinely believe it is uncalled for and very unjust. There is a stronger case to say "Give the lad a chance" than there is to say "Cheerio Diego" or something to that degree.

I like the way you took my reply seriously, laddie, to the point of pretending to analyse it and expose its supposed literary shortcomings.

I'd hate it if people didn't take me seriously, so I gave you the benefit of the doubt and replied to your post in as serious a manner as I could, based on both your audacity and YOUR sarcasm. Any hint of sarcasm on my behalf was as a direct result of the sarcasm hinted in your previous post.

But you didn`t answer my initial questioning of why the hysterical reaction, including cries of `Bitch`, `Muppet` and `Daytripper`. Not to mention that wonderful last resort of those who really have nothing to say: `Feck Off`.

Didn't call YOU a bitch, I said if you are "going to bitch" - slight difference. You sounded like a muppet based by your rash claims, anything wrong with that ? I suggested your claims were "LIKE" the Daytrippers, not directly calling you one. I would hope you are intelligent enough to engage in a bit of self analysis. If you can decide you are none of the above than GREAT, WHIPPY DOOO no need for tears then is there ? FECK OFF is a great word, don't diss it.

Oh, and please find those postings where allegedly I slag off Andy Cole. I think you will be searching for a very, very, very long time if you expect to find them.

If you go and read my post again you will see I said the following:
It's people like you who were calling for Andrew Cole's head in his first season at Old Trafford.
Now let us analyse the above sentence shall we ? You will notice that the word "LIKE" is instrumental in the interpretation of the sentence. I gained an opinion based on your original post, that you had come to the rash conclusion that Diego Forlan has basically failed. When Andrew Cole joined United there were people who made equally rash judgements about him, therefore, the person you portrayed yourself to be by your post is "LIKE" or "SIMILAR" to the people who rushed to Andrew Cole's judgement. Cole is a good example as he was a forward with 7 million on his back, as is Diego.
Nowhere in my post did I say that "YOU" were calling for his head. If this is an impetuous interpretation of my post on your behalf, then that's a bone you gotta pick with yourself and a question you need to ask yourself, not me.

But you don`t really want to engage in debate, do you? If that were the case you would let others make points without spitting your dummy.

I get pissed off when I see claims that I know are inaccurate, unfair and based on little evidence - so what ? Ever get pissed off ?
Just because I get pissed off doesn't mean I don't want to debate - look at the Russian Parliment for GOODNESS (feck) sake. You made your point (how good it was is a matter of opinion) and I responded - pretty simple isn't it.
Now let's talk about Deigo........
