That he seemingly hasnt chased Cisse.

I mean if he had chased him he wouldnt choose Pool over United, i dont think theirs an argument about that.

Im not often disapointed in fergie but i feel not making a proper bid for Cisse and letting him, seemingly, slip away to Liverpool could come back to haunt him . Or have i been to taken in with the Cisse hype?

discuss.

Given that SAF is dedicated to 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1, I don't think Cisse'd be very happy warming his bum most of the time. Maybe that's why he's going (reportedly) for someone more versatile, like Ronaldinho?

I agree,

you think Fergie would have learned his lesson when he lost Saunders, Collymore, Dundee etc to Liverpool.

What has Cisse ever done? Way overrated.

I fecking knew it, I said this in that Ronaldinho thread, that if he really wasn't Ferguson's first attacking target, those hoping for Ronaldinho would start having a go at SAF. Now people how wanted Cisse are doing the bloody same.

Have you ever thought that in the eyes of SAF Cisse is not the best player for our team?

feck, trust the man, he'll get the players that he wants and the ones that are the best for our team.

Im not joined up their but i read YAWN alot, maybe im being influenced by hteir love for the french cross-dresser

Mind you i bet theyl all be slagging him off to high heaven if he doesnt succeed, one bloke said he was going to be bigger than Beardsley and Rush

Never mind what those Pool muppets say. There seems to be a common slogan amongst the Liverpool fans worldwide, and I'm not sure whether it is their actual belief or some sort of code that means something entirely different. Regardless they always seem to quote the following at the start of every season

"This season is our season"

I agree with everything that Pedantic Salfordian Bastard said.

scored goals in the champions league

i reckon he's overhyped by many

the cissee move was never on for us considering how we play. we've got the best up top why worry about what others are doing?

Inclined to choose SAF over VanNistlerater, if I have to decide right now

Seen a couple of great minutes of Cissé, but I suspect SAF and his people have studied him in greater detail than I have.

VN, no offense mate, but how much have you seen of him besides his highlights (and no, not his hair)?

Ive seen a couple of Auxerre games, when i went over to france last year, rennes v.s auxerre last year, cisse played i think, had a great game. Came across very strong and pacey.

But ive also seen him have some fecking nightmares.

I suppose ill trust fergie on this one.

Just wondering, as I've only seen highlights of him, and I've heard all kinds of things ranging from being a good, but extemely "streaky" player to being the next great one. I know you're one of his supporters on here, but I wondered how much you've seen of him in actual game situations.

In fairness ive MOSTLY only seen highlights.

He does come across quite...light-weight, skinny if you like...trying to find the word...streamline?

But when hes on the ball he is quite strong and dribbles well, that said ive seen hi have nightmares where he cant complete 2 yard passes, and seems to have a extremly strange habbit of somewhat...isolating himself in the game, just drifts off and doesnt bother.

Im a supporter of him but i dont believe hes the be all and end all of football, there are players id prefer us to sign, Ronaldinho being one of them, but thats a whole differant debate.

On a side note, BR, who do you think ferguson should be chasing this summer?

Well, I honestly don't have many specific players I would like, but I do have an opinion on what positions should be strengthened.

In defense, I think we need a two-footed fullback, who preferably can play CB if needed. Perhaps Escude would be the man? After that, I think an experinced CB would be nice (think a slightly younger Larry White), preferably a bit of a hard man, someone who wouldn't mind not starting all the time, but who would also be fully capable of being a regular starter based on form.

In the midfield, we need wing cover on either side, with the left being the priority. Kewell for me, since he can play forward or even link man if needed. From what I've heard, Quaresma would fit the bill as well.

Up front, we need an experienced striker who is big and physical like Ruud, and who won't mind not playing much. Ole is quite capable of playing as a lone striker, BUT I would not feel confident with him up there alone for a long period of time (ie Ruud out injured) against big CBs.

Of these things, I think a fullback and at least one winger are essential, in that order.

As for the biggest rumours so far, I would love to get a young talent like Bellion (hardly a gamble at that price). Howard is an excellent goalkeeper and will be our next great keeper if he can adjust (and he would imo). Ronaldinho; well, I'm torn on him. IF (big "if" IMO) Fergie can tame his party-boy attitude, he can adjust to this league and the club, and he can find consistency, he would be a great signing. If not, we are looking at a major flop. But if we get him (which means Fergie has faith in him), I will be quite happy as at his best, his skill makes him a definite match winner. He has the potential to make our attack unstoppable IMO.

Kinell, I've done a Devilish!

Aye, too bad it will never happen.

Though, there are others like him out there to be had. Great as he was (and still is to an extent) he is not one-of-kind.

Hierro anyone? ;)

I just have this image of SaF using his horse-racing expertise here: "check out the hind legs on that Cisse - he's a goer, but will he bring her home?"

:D

Wait a minute, you think that he played - you're not sure, but you are sure that he had a great game?

Only 14 goals for Auxerre this season....hardly the stuff of the sort of players we are looking for????
