Isn't he only on loan from Madrid to boro?
From what I can see, he is a quality player, who looks like he can play as a CM, RM or RB? Scores goals and creates them and looks like having a good engine.

Even if Boro have first refusal on him, I think he wouldn't turn us down if we came in with a bid.

The big plus would be he wouldn't cost the sky as I don't think his contract with RM will last any longer.

His performances have obviously been good as my fantasy team with him in it are doing pretty fine at the moment. :)

In the Redcafe League,

Rank 17 Deadbeats 743.69

:)

Don't you think Geremi would be a good back-up for Beckham or G Neville down the right?

Damn, you're no.1 aren't you?

He would cost us at least 10 m sterling

Big deal - he'd be worth it. I'd rather see him comming on than Chadwick, and Solskjaer's not a real winger obviously. And then there's the whole issue of G. Neville off the boil, and Fortune playing in defensive mid.
He'd cover any of these, and do a great job of it too.

I must be psychic, Geremi just said in an interview

"'I'm enjoying my football, but I'm not thinking about whether I will be here after this season. We will see at the end of the season.

'The main reason I came to Middlesbrough was to play regularly. In my last season at Real Madrid I was not doing that so I thought about coming to the Premiership.

'The team is playing well and I'm playing well. I hope it continues. For a player the most important thing is to be playing and when things are going as well as they are now obviously I'm going to be happy.

'I will sit down with the manager in the summer and we talk about things then. For now I just want to carry on doing my job the best I can,' he told The Journal."

:)

Geremi has taken to english footy like a duck to water. strong, competitive, good on the ball. he'd be a good signing for any of the top premiership sides.

That Geremi has blossomed in the Prem for Boro so quickly brings us back to the Veron conundrum. The Premier English League is unique. Physical attributes and mental toughness still matter here more than in any other top flight domestic league.
Look at the Brazilian midfielder that the Arse just bought this summer...skillfull, but physical with it, slotted straight into the side.
The point is, these strong/skillfull midfield players are out there, and they all don't come at a king's ransom.
United may be the richest club in the World(TM), but they also come pretty damn close to being the most parochial and gullible at times.

Was he? It wouldn't matter though as long as he is class against everybody else.
