Hello almighty ban-stick wielders,

A friend of mine is getting the following error when trying to login:
You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.Date the ban will be lifted: Never"

She just moved to a new place and got a new line, so probably the ip was used for abuse or something, I can provide username/ip address on PM (not really sure if I should do it publicly here).

Ugh.. that brewlio part.... :nervous:

The general consensus is that your friend should re-register. They only have two posts anyway.

Not wanting to stick my nose in, but with the same IP address or range, will the same thing not occur again? If you know the two posts, you must know if there was a valid reason for the ban, and even the person that did it? Shouldn't you be asking why the ban happened in the first place? Because if it was the IP address, the account would not be banned, and the forum would give a message similar to "Your IP has been banned", not "You have been banned for the following reason".

I'm guessing, since I don't know the user name, that it will be a user who has been moved to that usergroup due to inactivity rather than due to any ip issues.

The IP address he specifies in his PM that she is currently at is not a match of the IP address the person originally posted from

If I hadn't misread 'banned' as 'banged' I probably wouldn't have checked this thread out.
