Tactics

4-3-3:
Playing a 4-3-3, my team is built on a rock solid defence with a perfect blend of brains, brawn and elegance. Forster is capable of marking anyone out of the game on his day, and Scirea’s outstanding reading of the game and superb ball control make them the perfect partnership. McGrain and Demyanenko will operate as traditional full-backs in this formation, with a primary focus on defence, though their ability in the final third means when they do get forward, they have a good shot at creating goalscoring opportunities.
In midfield, Fernandez and Prohaska will sit relatively deep, the Frenchman tasked to break up the play with his ball-winning skills and the Austrian to play the role of deep-lying playmaker, dictating the game with his passing skills. Further ahead of them in attacking midfield is Glenn Hoddle, whose ability on the ball and ferocious shot make him a danger to any side.
On the wings, Eder and Bertoni are more than capable goalscorers themselves, but they will also be charged with providing the ammunition for Krankl and making the pitch wide when necessary, allowing space for Hoddle to operate in.
Leading the line is Hans Krankl, consummate finisher and the focal point of my team. Krankl will operate as a fox-in-the-box, similar to Ruud van Nistelrooy at Manchester United. With assistance from Hoddle, Eder and Bertoni, there will surely be chances galore – and a chance usually means a goal for Hans Krankl.

Tactics:
The 6ft-plus backline pack plenty of physical punch with three of the four famed for their defensive intelligence. Their comfort on the ball, combined with the passing range and vision of the midfield trio should ensure control of the game - providing plenty of ammunition for the marauding and direct four of Platini, Cha, Rep and Elkjaer.

Player Profiles

The boys have just finished their steak and chips pre-match meal and are raring to go. Platini and Bossis polished off a bottle of Bordeaux so the dressing room is understandably bouncing. Souness has got Rod Stewart belting it out on the record player.

I'm being outclassed in midfield, so I think it's time for a change:

Oriali on to bring more solidity to the midfield, countering the threat of Platini and Brady and allowing a defensive platform for Eder and Hoddle to drift wide to support Demyanenko and McGrain, who will have increased attacking responsibility in this game.

Oriali will use his man-marking skills to shackle Platini, tracking his runs into the box and blocking shots, whilst Fernandez will roam around and break up the play with his tackling ability. Hoddle will keep Souness occupied, leaving Herbert Prohaska to control the midfield whilst the intelligent movement of Eder and Krankl tests Gio's defence.

Overall it's a tough match, and Demyanenko and McGrain's increased workload means i'm relying on them quite a bit; but with the defensive assistance of the best CB pairing in the draft, my fullbacks forays forward should be well covered.

Christ... I like the idea and reckon you have changed for the better. But Eder ahead of Bertoni? Seriously?
