I've just reviewed 'My Bloody Valentine 3D' in the movie review thread and was wondering what other 3D films people have seen and what their opinions of them are.

I was hugely impressed with th eone I watched last night and hope that in future many more are made in 3D

I've seen quite a few in the last year including Beowulf, U2 3d, Nightmare before Xmas, Journey to the centre of the Earth and My Bloody Valentine.

Best one has been Journey to the Centre of the Earth closly followed by My Bloody Valentine.

There are quite a few 3D films on the way including all the big animations Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Bolt, Up, Monsters and Aliens and a rerelease of Toy Story in 3D

Other films include Final Destination: Death Trip 3D (aka: Final Destination 4), Disney's A Christmas Carol and the one that is going to change the way 3D is viewed James Cameron's AVATAR.

How is this?

My only experience of 3D films has been the ones you can sometimes get on DVD that come with the cheap cardboard glasses and you probably get about a handful of scenes that are 3d. That's why I was surprised with My Bloody Valentine to see an entire movie in 3D.

they make the film around the 3d effects

not the other way round

I appreciate this, but teh current 3D films are gimmicky - and need to have these big effects to make full use of the technology, and to show just what they can do etc.

Eventually I hope 3D films will be the norm and so the gimmicky axe coming through the screen at you won't be needed.

If that makes sense!

I heard they are releasing Toy Story 1+2 in 3D and then a third will come out the year after titled "Toy Story 3...D"

Cant remember where i heard it

I think its more down to look of the film than a change in 3D

U2 3D looks sweet.

Wonder if they'll release a dvd set with 3D glasses.
