There is no spoon.
Brilliant film, got to see it last night at the print works. One of the better vampire films ive seen and probably the best horror film you'll get to see this year.

The Vampires descend upon the town, one by one they take out any methods of communication to the outside world before the sun sets for the next 30 days, the town 80 miles in any direction from anywhere is isolated and the feeding soon after begins.

Its not your cheesy every day vampire flick with 2 fanged teeth, black capes and bats and shady comb over’s, its deformed mouthed, full on sets of razor sharp teeth, barely understanding the English language vampirism.

Once the action gets going its quite brilliant how you see the town ravaged, people lay dead all over the town while vampires tear them to pieces, blood everywhere (looks even better when its sprayed all over the snow), people running around screaming while some just run around shooting anything that moves, till the inevitable happens, eventually you get to the main plot of survival which is quite intense at times and really has you on the edge of your seat!

Some of the action scenes are fantastic, some incredibly gory and some serious jump out of your skin moments based on a few people i saw diving about in front of us, if there was one film I’d advise you watch at the cinema this year its this one!

Full credit to Josh Hartnett, thought his acting was spot on.

8.5/10 for me!

Anyone got a link to a decent torrent for it?

not that I use torrents or anything... :nervous:

I want to report it

it was ok but not as good as you say, thought the actor playing the lead vampire was weak. Harnett was good though

This is the American 28 Days/Weeks Later. Using proper camera and sound effect to create tension and fear in the audience, while adding a sense of modernism with the up to date gore.

The use of camera focus and camera work to hide the vampyres stalking the townsfolk is superb, while the use of camera work to convey the fear and panic when they are ripping apart the town is great.

The concept itself was clever, very clever. The vampyres were freaky, especially the little kid. But to go back to the 28DL reference, there was some subtle theft of ideas. The altering in the eyes when you become infected and the the way the vampyres gorge their pray similar to the rage virus.

I personally thought the acting was strong, although the bald vampyre would have been a better choice for leader.

I also liked the ending, sometimes it is nice for it not to be uber sugary walking off into the sunset (or rise in this case).

One flaw I noticed though, if he mentions he could smell their blood, how could the vampyres not smell their blood when outside.

Top film 8/10

When he said they could smell their blood my first thoughts where why didnt the bald dude rip the toilet door down and tear them both a new one? Even still, i totally enjoyed it :p
