Several earthquakes have hit Turkey's largest city Istanbul - the largest with a magnitude of 6.2
I recently did a geohazards report on the 1999 Izmit earthquake and predictions of a further earthquake of a magnitude exceeding 6 on the North Anatolian Fault were over 60% within the next 30 years (as of the early 2000s).
The quakes are currently ongoing and have happened in the middle of the day so hopefully the death toll isn't as high...
