2024 U.S. Elections | Trump v Harris

He's crooked, senile, incoherent and the country is run by his un-elected handlers. What the Dems are doing to Biden is elderly abuse, he needs to be in a retirement home somewhere, not working 60-70hr weeks.
The country can't be run by his un-elected handlers due to his mental state AND Biden be working 60-70 hour work weeks.

Your post here is no different than the Trumpers argument that he's both senile AND a criminal mastermind that rigged an entire election.

It wasnt that he's bad. I just cant seem to understand that this is the best the Democrats can come up with.

And yes i know whoever it is better than Trump. But compared to Obama, Clinton, Hilary which i personally root for.

Joe Biden has been a better president than Barack Obama.

He keeps making dumb suggestions and then saying "this isn't part of my platform, but..."

The idea that he could speak freely on how the climate change agenda is a hoax, because he is not bought and paid was monumentally stupid to begin with. He's saying the exact same thing that someone who was bought by the coal, oil and gas industry would say. I don't imagine there's a lot of Republicans that are bought by the wind and solar industry.

The "bought and paid for " climate agenda thing has always been an extremely stupid thing, from the very beginning and in all forms. Imagine believing that the traditional "big money" with an interest in the results of climate science isn't actually the ludicrously wealthy fossil fuel industry, but actually people whose ideal goal is economic slow-down. The only way that even remotely makes sense is if the latter are actually evil people who want to destroy the world because they're so evil. There's no other explanation. Unfortunately, that's where a lot of people end up as a result.

Schrödinger's POTUS.

Jesus, this Vivek guy is apparently a self-made billionaire. I had no idea, thought that he is just some weirdo who speaks fluently but says a lot of populist bullshit.

I really like your posts in CE cause you bring some much needed balance to the very left-wing echo chamber that Caf has become. But, you need to pick up your mind if Biden is working 60-70 hours per week, or his unelected handlers do everything while he is there just for the show.

As someone else said Schrondinger’s POTUS does not look very convincing.

You guys are a special breed; if you dislike a source, you tend to outright dismiss it as propaganda. It can be quite tiresome. Could you please specify what, in particular, you find to be propaganda in that video?

Onto your question - Newsom has been recently campaigning in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Florida, criticizing GOP at every stop. But why? He holds no political power in those states. His travels could be seen as a dereliction of his duties as the governor of California. His mandate is to focus on addressing the issues afflicting CA, of which there are many. Stuff like this. Or this. Or state surplus swinging from a $100B surplus to a $22.5B deficit. Not to mention homelessness, housing, struggling schools, a rising homicide rate, a crumbling public transportation, - and exhibit 2 - you know basic shit that it's on his mandate to handle.

Newsom needs to focus on California many problems, not the problems of the Deep South. And unless he can offer solution to rising rents, rising homelessness, rising crime and disorder, and failing schools, he doesn’t really deserve a shot on the national stage.

So most of the stuff you are linking has macro causes, like I first mentioned, or in a few cases have causes exacerbated by local politics. You can't blame Newsom for either the homeless problem that the entire US has or something like San Francisco where locally they've been experimenting with ideas that haven't quite worked out. Same with schools. If areas don't vote to share regularly, the distribution of school funding will be disproportionate. And California has challenges that many more homogenous linguistic states do not have. In just one district where a friend teaches, there are over 150 native languages. That's a huge challenge that even another big state like Texas doesn't have where the majority will speak just English or Spanish as native language. It's just not valid, let alone sound, to blame all these issues on Newsom. ..

Again, what policies do you believe will solve these problems? That's the thing about California. Republicans offer no solutions behind their fantasy that less government and less regulation and wild west capitalism will magically solve everything when, in fact, that is a major part of the problem. All I've ever heard any CA Republican suggest for the homeless is "more police" because they actually think either arresting all the homeless or just pushing them out to another city where they can't see them will solve the problem. So please let us know your solutions to these issues.

Ha - I wrote that with a heavy dose of sarcasm - there's no way he works more than 30 hours of week.

But theoretically Presidents, should be working 60-70 hrs week and more. Clinton probably did that. Obama also. Maybe Bush Snr. Trump and Biden no way.

To be fair, voters and random people do not find solutions. They just vote for politicians whose job is to find solutions.

California (and big Californian cities like LA or San Francisco) have been lead by Democrat governors, mayors and legislators for an eternity. California’s big cities, especially San Francisco have become unlivable. I think it is a bit too rich to blame voters (or random people) for not providing solutions instead of Democrat politicians who have governed the country since forever and during the time it has become a shithole.

BTW, you can see San Francisco’s degradation year after year. In 2017, parts of it looked bad to me, in 2019 it was terrible and by 2020 it had become ‘I’ll stay here for only as long as I must’. Haven’t been there since end of 2020 but people I know who live there say that it has become even worse.

Joe Biden can't run a fecking Bingo Hall, let alone the most powerful country in the world. Get real, his mental acuity to grasp complicated issues is no longer there (not that he ever had it). He just nods, stumbles around and signs whatever is put on his desk.

And you apparently can't grasp the point of a straight forward post on an online forum.

Or are you now abandoning half of your previous contradictory post to go whole ham in on the other?

Side note - all presidents surround themselves with people who are experts in their fields & ask them what to do. That's kinda the whole point of having a cabinet, executive branch, etc., etc., etc.

Just pointing out why the whole "it's being run by the unelected..." also doesn't make much sense. Of course it is, it always has been since George Washington.

Seems like these civics classes/test are really needed after all!

That is a lie. Everyone knows the founders were real men, not woke, and they were perfect in every way and definitely hated slavery and loved god so very much and each worked 1,000 hours a week to make america great again. Maybe you should go take a history class.

'Crooked' how?

Yet by basic metrics always used when judging a presidency, he has had the most influential term since the 60s at the very least.

Vivek is claiming Hunter's laptop caused J6.

And fossil fuels makes us safer when a natural disaster occurs.

Lots of Republican talking points in here.

How do you work this out? Does it say how long a President should work in the constitution?

Look, first of all, let's live the legacy discussion for when he leaves office.

I'm concerned about Joe Biden's basic mental acuity. And the feeling looking at the White House is there's a shadow government that's actually running the country. And this is nothing to say anything bad about Janet Yellen or Jeff Zients, or anybody else, but we didn't elect these people in office. One of central themes of US govt has been the president is in charge, and I just don't think Biden is in charge.

So I think it's very important where we have a president who'll be 82 odd years old next November, to allow the American public to reexamine his mental acuity. Is he mentally super sharp and ready to go for another four years, in which case a lot of folks will support him? Or is this a moment where we actually need to be very responsible for the future of the country and not create some puppet government situation? I don't think it's funny that we have this weekend at Bernie's like meme that goes around about him. This is the President of the United States. It's the most important person in the world.

Let’s assume for one second that it is true that Joe Biden is a doddering old grandpa with failing mental faculties, is it really that big of a deal when we lived through 4 years of Trump? That presidency has put to bed any notion that the state apparatuses need the president to be ‘in charge’. If anything, they ran themselves just fine while being actively sabotaged by the executive branch.

Yes

Vivek's strategy is to pander to the Trump audience, that's clear. His spiel about God is real, climate change is a hoax, and all that crap is just pandering. Viv knows through polling and his intelligence that that is what the bulk of the voting members of the GOP want to hear. Not exactly leadership, but I don't think he wins the GOP anyways.
