I'm pretty optimistic with Dallas' picks, but I would have taken Derrick Johnson or Shawne Merriman over Demarcus Ware. I'm hoping Khalif Barnes is there at pick 42...Dallas needs to find a RT and he could be that guy. Otherwise, find a safety to team up with Roy Williams.

Did you guys really need that much defensive help?

God yes. And it shows that Parcells is moving to 3-4 scheme...not sure why, it works if you have the players for it and Dallas does not. Ellis and Glover are 4-3 guys. Not sure what they plan to do with those two. Perhaps trade one of them, but most likely figure a way to use them.

Ware will be the "hybrid" player. He'll be a pass rush specialist, similar to Derrick Thomas in his days with KC.

Spears will be the big body on the DL.

I just thought you needed a WR as well.

That too. Keyshawn and Glenn ain't got much time left and Glenn is coming off a major injury. A WR could be a definite possibility at #42.

I'm concerned about Ware. He wasn't a known commodity coming into the offseason but had impressive combine workouts. That's scary for a player to rise from rd 4 projection to top 20 after a few workouts. I hope he works out and makes the grade, but I think DJ or Merriman were the safer picks and most likely the players who will have better careers.

You should have gone after Matt Jones. He is, without question, the best athlete in the draft--some have said the best athlete in any draft for the past 7 years or so.

Having a WR that is both incredibly tall and fast is useful for any team, but especially one in the NFC East.

He's also never played WR. He was a QB in college. It will take him two years to learn the position at the pro level. Too many other holes that Dallas needed to fill with players that can be impact immediately.

I have no clue why they took Barnett in round 2. Jerry continues to amaze and bewilder.

His pure athletic ability is something you need on offense--regardless of how long it takes for him to adjust to being a WR.

Bang on. The Chargers were looking at Spears as well, same formation as Dallas with similar needs - pass rush. Still, I'm happy with the draft so far.
