Arsenal - The IMMortals.....Sounds very nice ( and
I'm nervous .

VERY <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" /> <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" /> <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

5 points ahead is the theory .

Tonight is going to be IT.

If we win ( any win will do playing shite 1-0 will make me happy ! )it's all over .

Should we lose , then you're favourites .

A draw and I still favour yous, with the goal difference, although out of all the teams ( if we can put out our strongest eleven)we are more than capable of getting a point or winning at OT even under this kind of pressure .

You've got Keane almost back . THATS your difference although Vieira is now 'up for it' after a poor season.

What a season it's been so far with some more to come !!

Cardiac arrest or what

C'mon you Gunners - we can do it

Missing the word "almost" I think.

Nah win tonight and it's finished .

BUT just heard the latest that Thierry Henry may be missing ( slight hamstring).

THAT makes things very very difficult no Pires no Henry, Kanu-waste of space and Wiltord one footed and God knows what .

I think I'm, gonna get me boots and get me arse up to the Raebock !!

Looks like Pennant could get thrown in maybe .

Jeeeez this is gonna be a difficult night. :(

I agree with jopub on this one. I have a funny feeling that Bolton are gonna play out of their skins tonight.

Jopub wtf is your name all about anyway?

Just a name mate , always had it for years when involving anything on the net.

I have two ( I'm a musician ) so the other one was 'Bach7' !!

Now that's mad innit ? could'nt get just 'Bach' so some computer generated password gave me 'seven' as well!

Still 'Jopub''s okay for everything else.

:)

Jopub as you probably know, my thinking is that I far prefer Arsenal to win the title any day over liverpool if Manchester United cannot.

But I hope tonight that Arsenal crumbles like a kiddie`s sandcastle in the face of the incoming Bolton tide! Maybe that is too much to hope for, but nevertheless I am hoping for it!

Yeah fair enough GG but IF we get a result tonight no-one can argue we deserve it .

We've caught up with you on the one thing we were lacking - a squad that has true strength in depth .

Although saying that Christ knows what team we're gonna put out tonight if Henry is injured too .

How about putting RvN out on loan to us for a couple of days !! ;)

My worst fear is 0-0 then a penalty 5mins from time - we are just dire- no-one wants to know !!

If there is one I hope TA is in there steps up and just wallops it . If he misses at least he had a crack .

I hate thoses weedy 'placement' penalty's in crunch matches , they look so cool when they go in BUT ..........

True, agree that the match tonight is the definite point of who'll be the champion this season. I just can't see your team lose to Everton at home. If you win, credit to you and you deserve to be the champion. However if only you make the slightest mistake, we are always there waiting to punish you. ;)

Pires of course, Sol and scares too over Ash Cole AGAIN and Vieira .

We are now really missing Bobby Pires,( who would'nt !) Henry in particular has been in poor form since BP's tragic injury . This has caused Bergkamp also to dip too.

At the moment we are reliant on the likes of the old 'uns Seaman , Parlour, Adams , Keown even Dixon to get us through

Kanu is a complete waste of space and Wiltord ( I doubt if he is fit too ) could be a liability . You never know what you'll get with him .

So all in all it is a bit fragile actually . As the season has gone on we've got stronger at the back which is now keeping clean sheets and the 'wolf from the door' but it won't last forever . Thank God we 're playing Bolton tonight
I say .

The only plus recently has been the form of Paddy
Vieira . After a very low key and out of sorts season he's now bang on it . Timing could'nt be better. And of course Fred the Red Hair Lunberg has been amongst the goals.

I am NOT looking forward to tonight .

I want it to be tomorrow NOW and I sit here with a 5 point gap over yous !!

;)

If the gooners draw or lose tonight the game at Old Trafford will be pucking incredible! Winner takes all, Championship decider. For the sake of entertainment and excitement alone, you guys really should just slip up tonight, would be the perfect finale to a thrilling title race (with of course us winning at OT and keeping our trophy where it belongs) ;)

I agree totally with Niall. If the Arse dont feck it up on purpose tonight I will view it as gross unsporting behaviour on their part! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Even if they beat Bolton it's not over yet. If we win at OT, they'll loose confidence and draw against Everton on the final night. Arsenal tend to stumble on the goal line. That's part of the reason why I like them. They also play nice football.

Mate, Everton are only good enough to beat themselves. Wishful thinking on your part.

I can see it now. All the Arsenal players with their head in their hands thinking: "Oh no. We couldn't even get a result at Old Trafford against one of the best teams in Europe. What chance have we got at home against perennial relegation candidates with nothing to play for."

No no forget Everton. They are not going to get a result or draw at Highbury. The only team that will do it for us is Bolton, tonight. If can manager a draw or a 1-0 win it will be blown back open again. I confidently believe Everton have little or no chance of damaging Arsenal at Highbury at all though.

Nah! As Rod Marsh says it's gonna be an Arsenal banker! Keeping cool is the trick!

I think Arsenal will win comprehensively tonight. The boys know how close they are and are not gonna let us down. Henry, Cole and Campbell will all probably play. Vieira, Bergkamp, Campbell, Henry and Freddie will all play out of their skins. I fancy us to win 3 or 4-0. Bolton don't have enough class to compete with Arsenal and now they're safe, they probably won't put up much of a fight. When they went 1-0 down against Fulham they totally folded and I think the same will happen tonight.

Question:

1. Did they also fold when you played them at Highbury ?

2. Did they also fold when we were 1-0 up on them ?

3. Did they also fold against Liverpool at the Reebock ?

Rhetorically speaking of course. ;)

They folded against Fulham because they already had 40 points and knew that would most definately keep them up. I watched the game and they didn't bother to get back into it, since they really had nothing to play for.

Yes agreed, the scalp that is Fulham isn't worth playing for. The scalp that is the Arse, however, is worth playing for. Roll on 8 o'clock.

I think it will be a stroll in the park for Arsenal tonight, I'm going for a 3-0 upwards win. I can't see Bolton doing any damage to Arsenal. The Arsenal squad has been fantastic this year, playing with loads injured, wenger has made a huge impact at the club.

I hope ICHK doesn't read this post, as he'll accuse me of being a cockney next

I hope Bolton can turn 'em over, but I'm not holding my breath :(

Hoping against hope.... <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Hoping for Utd's sake or poo's?

This is the kind of posting a Red would get slaughtered for.

They did have enough class to compete with us and Liverpool.

Well this is what Sam Allardyce said after the game:

"I think Arsenal will win the title now. It will be very difficult for United to catch them because we didn't take anything off them. They can only slip up themselves so it's just a test of their nerve," the Bolton boss said.

"We couldn't open ourselves up too much because, if we had done that, Arsenal would have cut us apart.

"We couldn't go out and play all hands to the deck and get dashing forward. They are a quality side who haven't lost away all season and, probably, to expect anything else was a bit too much.

"I think that if we had scored Arsenal would have stepped up the pace because they looked as if they were trying to play the game without using too much energy.

"Overall it was a fair result because their outstanding quality was little bit too much for us," he added.

Seems like I was right after all. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

Good man.

well fair play if Arse do go on to win it. At least the scousers cant now. Lets see United tonk them at OT and finish the season on a high. Hopefully after tonight we'll have other fish to fry.. <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />
