I'd feckin hate it if we got Smith.

18 of which for Kewell I presume

Smith? Give me a break.

Kewell I could live with as third choice if we don't get someone better (Ronaldinho, Quaresma etc. etc. etc.)but SMITH  not fit to pull on the Red on United. Neither good enough, nor the right attitude/temperament.

Me too. Talented player, but I hate the little bastard.

IMO Smith is the type of player who you hate when he's playing against you and enjoy when he's playing for you. He wouldn't make a bad 4th striker at United, though with the availability of Cisse and Ronaldinhio, I'd say we have bigger fish to fry.

Smith is English, unlike Beaver Boy jr. and Cissé.

I don´t want us to sign too many foreigners and I think we should go for an English forward.

Id say ok to smith, bit of a badboy image similar to cantona + the added bonus of being english...

I understand the English thing. Didn't stop us from buying all our strikers from abroad though did it.

i heard that is a very real thing about Defoe joining us & Zamora to go to the Hammers in the summer .

I would agree with this. The same can be said of Cantona. Given his reputation, I don't think anyone would have wanted him to come to Old Trafford.

But, SAF has a knack of tempering down the bad boys, unlike my best friend, the clown, Mr. Wenger ;) .

I would not mind having Smith. He is a good finisher. And he would surely perform in an environment like ours.

Exactly! SAF will tame him, if he comes.

Totally agree. At least Smith never mails in his performnces like Kewell has done for the past 2 seasons.

I'd rather have Smith than Defoe, but Smith would never come to us as he's Leeds through and through, but I do admire his work rate and fiery nature (not unlike cantona in that one respect) and he's got talent undeniably. Defoe though doesn't impress me, his goalscoring rate is average, he's a midget, and looks very ordinary to me. He plays well against us, but not week in week out. The last thing we need is a really short forward imo. I'd much rather have Beattie, someone who can get his head on the end of our winger's crosses and corners.

There's a big difference between a player having a fiery and passionate nature etc. and one who's just a complete tosser like Smith. He's a niggling bastard. Since when was Cantona like that?

I reckon Fergie could tame that and I think you need some aggression in the Prem anyway, but it ain't gonna happen cos he himself said he'd never join us.

I will open my wrists if we get Smith.

Complete and utter cnut.

Good.

I don't particularly want Kewell either, I don't think he's got the right mentality, he's even more inconsistent than Giggs, doesn't seem very self-motivated to me. Its possible that he might be more motivated in a decent club with a chance of winning trophies though.

If the reports about him being available for £6m are true he'd definitely be worth going for. Very good player.

£6m? May as well have him then for that price, good backup and competition for Giggs, and a bit of variety up front as a sub. :) ;)

kewell for 6m is a no brainer if the reports are true ... and if we only sign him to piss off the leeds fans even more

Aye, when you consider it that way, we'd be silly not to.

Errr...is this information credible? I can't see it on The Sun and all.
;)

Smith and Kewell would be great additions, for sure!

But, Smith's arrival would put Forlan's development on the back burner... :( Or maybe spurn him to prove himself more? I believe it could be quite positive for us.

I feel that Kewell's arrival would be quite positive in providing an able alternative to Giggs on the left... It would be good to have a left footed talent in midfield aside from Giggs and Fortune (who has been quite injury prone).
