Visually it looks great, but I have my doubts over whether the concept can carry a film. I had the same reservations with Slumdog, and really hated that.
Franco is getting AMAZING early word for his role, and well to be honest, considering 80% of the film will be him and only him, he has to be amazing to make it work really. It's a defining role for him, he was really good in Freaks and Geeks, then his thing as James Dean, but this could set him up big time, he showed he's got talent in Milk, so I hope he does nail it.
He's in Pineapple Express. I hope he fails in life.
