Already being called the best defender in the Argentine league. Have a sneaking feeling he'll shine at the world cup. Ridiculously quick, and very strong.
He is expected to go to Barca isn't he? Or is that still just rumours?

Tim Vickery really rates him and name drops him a lot on the World Football Phone In. Huge step up from River Plate to Barcelona though. Could easily crash and burn.

It's how I first heard of him. I've streamed the odd river plate game and he stands out a hell of a lot.
The pitch at El Monumental is absolutely huge, and he covers so much ground without having to much more than 3 or 4 steps. He reminds me of Rio in that way. Still makes the odd mistake, but at 20 that can be forgiven, he's not very experienced at the top level at all. Could be very important to an aging Colombian defence
Never heard of him before FM this year either. Ridiculously good on that so there must be something to it, maybe. I'll certianly be looking out for him at the World Cup as a result, but I've no idea how good he actually is.

So fm did their scouting properly for him then? He's a must buy in every save, will be interesting to see how he develops in real life.

Now Valencia only have to sign Doria and they've the ultimate Football Manager centre-back pairing.
Since he's Valencia's choice to replace Mathieu who they were keen to keep, I think its simply that Barcelona rated Mathieu over him.
And having watched Mathieu for Valencia a lot I expect him to be a big success, despite the high fee for a 30 year old that Valencia signed on a free.

4 years is hardly ages+ Büttner and perhaps even Powell 2 years ago suggests a certain consistancy. I think it's harder to pick up these unknown gems today as other clubs are perhaps catching up to us in the scouting department. Also, homophobic much?

From what i have seen of this guy he just lumps it foward aimlessly. Admittedly haven't seen a lot. His defending is good though, reminds me of Sol Campbell.

Thought I would revive this thread as he is playing against us. CM/FM legend. Seems a bit rough round the edges, but a tough, strong no nonsense defender. What do others think?

I'd rate him higher than Sanchez who went to Spurs this summer. Much more comfortable on the ball, too.
