Glasgow resident these days.
Every one of those players tonight was poor, but moral must be rock bottom and we know all of those players are better than tonight and this season in general. At the start of this season you would never have suggested that the palace 11 tonight would beat us 4-0.
Since we won the cup final, our general play has been at best average, but mostly poor. ETH has never adjusted to tried to complement the players available just try and insist on tactics that have never worked. Our league position this season is beyond fortunate - we should be so much lower. On every footballing metric that you can gauge a successful side, we are towards the bottom in the league. This is not the players it’s the manager.
I doubt anyone in the club will see it otherwise and I hope and pray tonight is the final straw for them too.
Sack him. He should be nowhere near the final and if there is the slightest glimmer of hope of us winning it, it would be with a new manager/interim/AI in place.

I just can’t really explain what has happened at United this season. Every single person can see how open we are, we had game after game in the CL where we conceded 3+ goals, Carragher did multiple videos on MNF about our crazy style and yet nothing seems to change. Surely fans would have more sympathy about injuries if the manager was trying to do adjust things and falling a little bit short. This feels like he is trying to get sacked

Jamie Carragher just called us the worst coached team in the Premier League and I can't argue with that. I've not seen anything to suggest that Ten Hag should still be here next season.

We are not in a good position to negotiate with a replacement yet, unless you want somebody already out of work - such as Potter. Tuchel won’t talk until after ECL, and same applies to most other employed managers until end of season. We could possibly have Steve McClaren as interim, but he might get sacked as well as part of the failed team. If/when EtH goes we need somebody to step in straight away and work with the team for next season.
You're just writing off an FA cup final if he stays,

At least if you get rid you can start negotiations for a new manager for next year.

Has to be an interim for the final even if it's just a slim chance.

He stays we get slaughtered in a final.

He doesn't deserve an FA cup final. He's fluked his way there and had the easiest run and still nearly managed to mess that up.

Probably the most annoying thing out of this period is I got banned several times just for being negative about the guy, just to be proven absolutely right about him later on. No one will get me these needless warning points back.

Not like I want to post on RedCafe again after the way I was treated here but it's funny how out of all our post Ferguson coach, I got banned for being negative about the worst of them all.

Oh well, just wanted to say that, which will probably be the last time I ever post here.
You don’t deserve it. He’s an awful coach.

Was that last season you were being negative?

I thought his style of his football was awful last season nevermind this one, but that wasn't really noticed by many because of the results.

In terms of results, wasn't really much to be negative about last season anyway. He'd got us back into the top 4 and won the league cup, for those who value trophies and what not.

Why is he being judged based on this lot of players? They are shit the whole lot.
Do you think he had was backed in the market with the players he really wanted to bring? His signings Malacia, Martinez, and Mount are out basically the whole season. He mentioned he wanted Kane but they failed to bring him so they went for Hojlund instead. He was supposed to be integrated slowly into the team. Its not Hags fault that Eriksen, Casemiro etc are a shadow of the players they were.
Let INEOS clean the deadwood and have a fresh start with all players available.

he said "one of the worst coached teams", not "the worst team". Semantics, but still worth pointing out.

All this moaning about injures, not being put in a good position due to structure etc. But we aren't asking for the treble, just not to be beaten 4 nil by mid table teams - and he still can't deliver

That is a pretty strange comparison
Well, a job is a job. One gets paid a 1000 times more than the other and the other one is expected to be perfected on peasant wages. Think about it mate

I am angry about having to pay a fortune every other weekend to watch that turd of a performance.

I have a feeling they will announce this coming week that he is leaving end of the season. If Bayern are interested in him, and their manager search has been shambolic enough that they probably are, then it is everyone's interest to announce his departure and let Bayern start negotiating.
It won't be announced without taking action with the final looming in a few weeks. I think they will wait until after the final.

Because it's nice after suffering through 90 minutes of ineptitude to vent somewhere, and this is the United forum. Not sure why that's so baffling to you, not everything needs to be a long winded "debate" and it sure as feck doesn't need to be after watching us get thrashed by a midtable club yet again.
Is it nice to be insulting too?

Im also processing the pain of defeat but you don’t see me taking it out on others.

I’ve poked back here once when we were in a winning position vs Chelsea.
You really think the personel and ETH are separate issues? He's hammered them all season in training trying to get them playing a system that is just insane.
Yes. You don’t know anything about training that’s pure conjecture.
Ffs

You do realise he has chosen to play AWB at left back? As he has over and over again this season. Despite the fact it never works, it never will work, and we have a player in Dalot who can play LB & has done multiple times during his career.

You can’t use an awful tactical decision, a decision he hasn’t been forced into but has chosen multiple times this season, in order to defend him.

Sorry but this level of delusion in order to defend a manager who in the grand scheme of things has brought nothing to the club you support is absolutely baffling. It has to be a WUM at this point. It just has to be.
Chosen isn’t exactly the word I’d use. Resorted is much more appropriate. I’ll use it in a sentence:
Erik Ten Hag, having no fit LBs, resorted to playing AWB there.

Dalot plays RB because from that position he is able to either overlap Antony or more often create a box by tucking inside and become a first receiver from other defenders. You pick him at LB and you lose that along with even more central structure. He’s been our most available defender so it makes sense to play him in his best position.

Actually, I doubt it.

With Glazers in charge sure. They would basically give full power to the manager and not even consider sacking him, but at the moment where the fanbase would become unanimous in wanting him sacked (usually with a 6 months delay), they would sack the manager (and usually hire the manager the fanbase wants). They were an extremely reactive owners.

No idea with Ineos. Why he is even talking with the new technical director on how to prepare the new season?
It’s a good way of assessing how good or barmy his ideas are.

I got a warning for criticising the actions of the mods who were trying and failing to curb critisicism of ETH a few months ago. Just ask @Samid and the issues he had with his poll thread. The mod bias is why if you write "b@ld fraud" it comes out as Pep Gaurdiola is my idol. Turns out we were right and they were wrong and they can't stop fan opinion on the site turning against him.

the injuries are obviously a problem, but him using that as an excuse is laughable. It's much more of a structural problem than anything else ... you watch any United game this season, with whatever lineup, and you'll see a disgusting amount of space available for the opposition between the lines every single time. It's actually comical how much space there is between our backline and the midfield every single week, and he just does absolutely nothing about it. Absolutely mind-boggling, this.

I think the percentages changed again

Bizarrely, before yet another humiliation, over half the forum wanted us to waste a final on him. Seems a few changed their minds.

I can't believe he's still here. Had we got an interim in, we could have stood a chance in the final. As things stand, you'd expect us to be swept aside like nothing by City.

I know is a free country and all that but it doesnt take half a brain to understand that people are emotional and rightly so, so having to chill a bit and not police every post is basic understanding of the situation.

Dalot isn't very good at left back, Dalot isn't very good at right back either but it's his natural position

AWB is shit.

You're likely to gain more by playing Dalot in his ideal position rather than making Dalot worse by sticking him on the left back when you know what you're getting with AWB.

Also, another factor here is that Antony depends more on having someone like Dalot playing with him than Garnacho.

People are acting as if it's a dumb as feck decision and an absolute no brainer to swap things around. People are morons.
It is a dumb as feck decision and anyone who makes that decision or backs it is indeed a moron.

Give it a few days and they will go back to giving him a chance. United fans are our own worst enemies.

I really don't think anybody else will find success here either. Not in the short to medium term at least. As we have witnessed the last decade the problem isn't the managers alone. It's the structure of the whole set up from players in and out, contracts, training and medical facilities etc. etc. Ratcliffe has one hell of a job to do, with or without Ten Hag.
I really don't think we're as far as we seem to be. Sometimes getting the right manager in combined with the right recruitment can make a huge difference in just one summer. We had a very good opportunity last summer to close the gap but got it terribly wrong. Remember Ralf mentioning that if you get 50% of your recruitment right then it's a success, and looking at the last 10 or 15 player signed, i wouldn't say we're even at 10%, that's shocking.

ETH will leave. But our players will need a year or two to recover from his training methods.
wtf. the players need to follow him out of the door. out of this squad there is only mainoo, garnacho, martinez (if he can stay fit) and hojlund who i can say i want to stay. all the others id be open to offers if they are decent.

id sack ETH before the final, its obvious they arent performing for him now, at worst we lose a game we're destined to lose anyway at best the change in manager could give the players a boost and at least be competitive.

I would say post-Fergie, we've gotten more than 90% of our recruitment terribly wrong.

And it's probably been the case all season.
