  • Completely gut the squad knowing we effectively have 38 games next season, and 3 windows to get the players we need, new managers only mandate should be top 4, and allows a reset.
  • After two seasons, I still can’t see what he’s trying to achieve with this team. There’s absolutely no pattern or style of play, just making it up on the pitch and improvising. He can have no complaints being sacked, we’re not good in defence, we...
  • It’s fake related party revenue, like Etihad who’s owned by Abu Dhabi. Their actual revenues will be nowhere near the true major clubs.

Feels like the last game for quite a few managers- Klopp, ETH, Moyes, De Zerbi? Anyone else - potentially Eddie Howe and Pochetino (although Chesea should probably stick with him).
  • That’s Real Madrid level of business judgment, which means we’ll screw it up as usual. Real even managed to get roughly the price they paid for Ronaldo from Juve, you absolutely sell players in the final years of their contract if they’re getting...
  • If we don’t have European football next season then maybe this is the summer to have a full clear out without worrying if we can replace the numbers, with Jan and the following summer to bring in the numbers with a view to competing on all fronts...
  • Has to be Casemiro since he joined us (other than his good spell last season), every time he gets the ball it creates chaos … for us.
  • redNATION replied to the thread William Saliba.
Will be great to see him lining up for City or Real in the near future.
  • Should’ve left him another season at Atalanta, his price wasn’t going to increase dramatically in a season, and signed someone like Jonathan David in the interim. But out transfer strategy makes no sense.
  • redNATION replied to the thread Nicholas Jackson.
Not very strong based on every time he gets bullied by a defender, his pace isn’t particularly useful given he can’t control the ball.

He shows just how important athleticism and pace is in this league, if you have it then you’ll always have some level of success, a bit like Darwin. Hjolund doesn’t have that so will have to make it up by being a strong finisher with great movement.
  • If that’s the test then this whole thread needs revisiting. Sancho would look pretty good in the City team, as would Di Maria and Pogba, so they can’t be considered bad transfers by Utd. Lots of ‘flops’ would look great in an all-dominating City...
  • We see it differently and this is clearly a subjective issue. In your point re VVD, exactly, is it unreasonable to expect a CB who cost more and is paid more to be at that level? I don’t, and I think a lot of Utd fans expected that too. The...
  • I see it differently - cost to benefit. He’s the most expensive CB ever and one of the highest paid players in the league. For that I expect VVD levels, not some decent performances we could have got from Smalling or Lindelof.
  • In addition to those mentioned above, Di Maria and Pogba. Neither delivered anywhere near what we expected and the former couldn’t wait to leave. Both were also amongst the highest paid players in the league. Maguire and Sancho must also be in...
