Tyrell Warren has left Barrow after two seasons and joined League Two club Grimsby Town. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/crggnkezmd4o
  2. Mainoo's first final

We've had a dozen or so teenagers start Cup finals over the years...and with subs it's obviously more.
  3. Crocked, broken, ill fitting, rotational, or super sub squad of squaddies

Goalkeepers Sergio Romero Tom Heaton Jimmy Rimmer Defenders Gerard Pique Marcos Rojo Eric Bailly Midfielders Ravel Morrison David Platt Johnny Giles Quinton Fortune Juan Sebastian Veron Kleberson Morgan Schneiderlin Donny van de Beek Attackers Ted MacDougall Andy Ritchie Peter Beardsley...
  4. U19s: Otten Cup (16-18 August)

I went over to Eindhoven for this tournament some years back and it was really well organised and worth a trip if you want to see some high quality youth football. You will need a car though as the hotels etc are a little away from the main PSV Academy grounds. Highly recommended.

Reece James has left Sheffield Wednesday and signed a two-year deal with Rotherham United. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cyxxl0vq9z6o
  6. 2023/24 Season Summary

Thanks I’ll double check my numbers when I get home. Not sure how I got Moorhouse wrong! I’ll update it accordingly.
  7. 2023/24 Season Summary

Fitzgerald, Fletcher and Curley all played midfield only which is why I called them mainstays. Both McAllister and Devaney played in other roles. Nothing more than that.
  8. 2023/24 Season Summary

As the season is finally completed for the Academy teams here is a statistical summary of the campaign for the U/18's including the UEFA Youth League as most players featuring came from this group. U/18 Academy League - P25 W21 D2 L2 F80 A29 U/18 Premier League Cup - P6 W5 D0 L1 F20 A 6 FA...
  9. Who replaces Rashford?

He had a bad back injury in 2021/22 and played when often injured so I included it as a bad season but it's really only this season that you could really question his attitude and performances.
  10. Who replaces Rashford?

Why does he NEED to be replaced? His goal scoring record whilst predominantly playing out wide is very good with two exceptional seasons (a goal every other game)...two very good seasons (a goal every three games) and three normal seasons (one in four games). During that period he often played...
  11. The good, the bad and the ugly / season 23-24

I would also add... GOOD Women winning the FA Cup and their juniors Reaching the FA Cup Final (particularly the win over Liverpool) Away fans BAD Marcus Rashford form (if he was in last years form we would be 3rd or 4th with 20+ extra goals) Poor loans/need for so many loans to start with...
  12. Player of the Season vote

It's been such a terrible season with injuries and a forever changing team that it only comes down to a few players. Bruno Fernandes gets my vote followed by Dalot and Garnacho. Other players just didn't play enough games or lacked quality when it really mattered. McTominay, Mainoo, Maguire...
  13. U18s: Chelsea vs United | Champions of England! | Treble winners!

That's what happens when you are dealing with young players...they can be inconsistent. We had an off night against Swindon Town and paid the price in getting knocked out. You also need to give Swindon some credit as they made decent progress in the FA Youth Cup. We have had plenty of upsets...
  14. How bad have our injuries really been this season?

If you had a choice of all of our best players (based on previous performance with United and at other clubs) then yesterday we were missing the following players due to injury, form or politics: Shaw, Varane, Martinez, Fernandez, Rashford, Martial, Sancho, Greenwood. That's eight first team...
  15. For those of us that remember?

Probably not...at least without a major overhaul and the board weren't keen on spending a lot of money. In his last season our final 14 (third of the season) games looked like this: P14 W4 D4 L6 F20 A26 Pts 12 That included 0-4 at QPR...0-3 at Middlesbrough...and 2-4 at West Ham. That's...
