I don’t watch enough Liverpool to know how much in-game impact he has had, so fair play if he has.
What I do think Slot has done masterfully well is to not upset the applecart and maintain continuity from your most successful manager in decades...
Liverpool supporting mate saying PSG rested 8 players on the weekend. Looking at the team Slot put out against Southampton I’m surprised he didn’t rest a couple more more players (eg. Salah and Gravenberch) for todays game, given their lead in...
Yeah I really hope they’ve been a bit more creative than a basic bowl design - not holding out hope though!
The way Gary was gushing at the end of the SJR interview gives me hope, but no idea what his taste in football stadia is like.
I considered Timber as he’s very similar to Kounde - probably a marginally weaker defender but stronger on the ball. Frustrates me that we missed out on Timber under ETH, he’d be perfect for us right now..
Saka at RM is a shout.
Yeah fair enough on Valverde he probably does trump Mac Allister. I’m just a massive fam of Mac Allister, think he’s an incredible player and a bit of an unsung hero for Liverpool this year.
As per the thread title, who are the best 11 players that would suit Amorim's 3-4-2-1 / 3-4-3?
This is entirely subjective of course but you should take into account 1) Tactical Fit, 2) Technical Ability and 3) Physicality. Below are my picks...
In hindsight, Asencio would have been a great option for us on loan in Jan. Regardless of Amad’s injury he would have provided a goal threat from the AM position, and allowed us to play Amad more at RWB where IMO he excelled more.
Not sure if this has been asked or discussed in this thread already.
But if Bruno drags us to an Europa League win this season, would that push him towards legend status for people?
Still baffles me that people are continuing to direct blame solely at the manager. The squad is crap and been destroyed by injuries yet again. We’re still giving minutes to Lindelof, playing Dalot at LWB, and only have Hojlund as a no.9 for gods...
Same, I was disappointed he wasn’t even given a mention by Shearer when he chose Bruno. Bruno certainly changed the game for us but De Ligt was flawless barring a couple of passes.
His switches of play and following his man into midfield was...
Potentially very good business from the club. Give him a good amount of minutes in the league and we could save ourselves needing a Martinez back-up come the summer.
I was worried for his first 10-15 mins where he basically didn’t touch the ball, but he really grew into the game. At a minimum he has the natural instincts of a no.9 unlike Hojlund and Zirkzee.
I don’t think starting him is the answer, but he...
Hojlund’s running out of games to prove himself and despite Zirkzee’s slight improvement, he’s simply lacks the required pace and intensity to be a top AM or ST in the prem. We should cut our losses with Hojlund and get as much of money back on...
Just signed a fairly lengthy contract extension sadly. Means he absolute won’t be cheap anymore.
Shame as I thought he could be an interesting option too until I learned that.
