  • Why wouldn't "better" actors want to work with directors like Lanthimos and Bong Joon Ho though? Seems unlikely. Seems more likely to me that other people just don't agree with you here. Ruffalo might not be the top talent of his generation, but...

Two of them were huge hits, though. A few more were solid hits. You're never going to get 10 good/great films that all were huge hits. It's good that they are recognizing smaller films as well.

While I didn't think Anora was the best film out of the nominees, I think it was an inspired choice of the Academy. Conclave, The Brutalist and A Complete Unknown would all have been safer choices. Also great that Mikey won. The winning...
  • Not much in it tbh, impossibe to say how much say given he he falls like a deck of cards.
  • Regarding what he said in response to the Razzie noms, I don't really think it's far fetched to read that he thinks in an industry where everyone plays it safe with no risks a movie [MEGALOPOLIS] that takes said risks would perhaps be harshly...
  • It absolutely will not be seen as a great film. Unless what constitutes a great film drastically would change. Are Razzie's really notorious for that? I'd say they rather nominate bad movies that also are high profile. Looking back over the last...
  • Saw this a while back. It was well done, but it reminded me a bit too much of Dark, to the point that after the film it certainly made me like the film a lot less.
  • Well deserved!
  • Yeah, obvious red if a bit unlucky. We won, move on.

Conclave took the ensemble SAG, and it has the momentum going into the final stretch. It was a very good movie, and it feels very compatible with the Academy. Definitely a strong contender now.
  • I don't think we should compare to last year as I think the directives this year has changed and the on field decision should stand to a higher degree. The West Ham decision was a farce, and I think they even admitted it was a mistake. For me the...
  • Look, I'm not saying the decision itself was incorrect. I hate diving, and Young should be booked for exaggerating the fall. But the communcation around VAR this season has been that the on field decision should stand unless it's clearly and...
  • And what. I was replying to someone saying it shouldn't be a foul because the player went down in a way that said foul wouldn't cause. This is true for a large number of fouls, even what you would call actual fouls, so it's not a good argument...
  • Exactly, this is the right way to go about it.
  • I'm just saying that it's not necessarily not a foul just because someone falls in a way that the foul wouldn't cause. Most of the times players go down in a way they just wouldn't have if they remotely tried not to go down.
