I’m nearly 50 years old and I played football all the way through college without ever really getting to see a lot of European football, or any other football of real quality really. We didn’t have a lot of money and it was tough to see games. As games became easier to find here in the States two teams were on a lot: Chelsea and United. I’ve always been partial to Blue and I have a thing about Devil mascots, so I’m choosing a team to pull for I found myself leaning Chelsea’s way. This was around 2006. I’ve become more partial to Chelsea as time has moved on, but the only teams I have any dislike for are Liverpool, City, and Barcelona. The snobby entitlement has always rubbed me the wrong way. My best friends now are die hard United fans, including my friend Graham, whose a season ticket holder at Old traffird and has been stranded here due to covid and other factors. I have a sense of humor, and I’m not a die hard that takes any of this too seriously. I’ve been reading the Cafe for years, and I would like to join the community.
