Liverpool Football Club (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd. after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road.

Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle. Liverpool reached its first FA Cup Final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. It won consecutive League championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season, when the club won the First Division for a fifth time under the control of ex-West Ham Utd centre half George Kay.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 19 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, and 8 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his Boot Room successors Bob Pailsey, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals: crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United (stemming from the success of both teams as well as the cities' competition in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century).

Not fancying our chances, we are just not very good.

Salah will be back and Liverpool are winning games for fun.

    1-3

We just conceded nearly 25 shots against one the worst teams in the league. If Liverpool get anywhere near that amount of shots next week, we will suffer another humiliation.

Another humiliation on the cards if we play like we did today and give up boatload of chances.

Hope Klopp is overconfident and packs side with kids, we can go with strongest available. If AWB is back will make a big difference as we will have 2 fullbacks on the pitch.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Evans - AWB
    Casemiro - Mainoo
    Garnacho - Bruno - Rashford
    Hojlund

Unable to play out from the back with no Shaw,Martinez will likely be punished here. Casemiro struggling to pass the ball and McTominay starting in midfield means Liverpool will dominate possession. Hojlund might be back for this game but after his injury lay off will probably need time to get up to speed.

It's a game Liverpool shouldn't require luck to win but I bet they'll get it in this game and that luck will play a big part in allowing them to progress into the semi finals.

Time for ten hag to park the triple decker bus again and spend an hour in training every day doing practice drills of Onana tying his shoelaces - he needs to get it absolutely right as it’ll be critical to success or failure.

Worked very well last time round keeping the score at 0-0 despite the 4,256 shots we had so I reckon it’s as good a tactical move as any.

    What d’you chaps reckon?

That you’ll be banned soon looking at your recent history.

They are the team in pressure to win and to keep fitness for the rest of the season.
Kick them... Kick them a lot. We don't need to play football here.

We will lose by fine margins, 25/30 shots on goal by Liverpool with 75% Possession but future is looking bright, progress has been made.

This will definitely be considered a football match, but it's difficult to say whether or not what both clubs will be doing for the allotted time will constitute being considered football, per se.

I reckon you were very very lucky we didn't score either of the two best chances of the match we created at Anfield.

No brainer for the system and lineup, assuming hojlund and AWB are fit.
    Onana
    Wan Bissaka Evans Varane Dalot
    Casemiro Mainoo
    Garnacho Bruno Rashford
    Hojlund

It's actually quite a good team on paper, has good balance to it and perfectly set up to play on the counter. Hope we're up for it.

It's a very good team on paper, and not even full strength. Which is why the fans blaming the lack of quality in the team is just ridiculous - we massively underperform against the talent we have in our team.

Probably got a decent chance. Although the fact it goes to ET isn’t good. Could see Liverpool on pens.

Would be the team I go for, but I’m doubtful that we’ll start the two players returning from injury. McSauce will start instead of Hojlund I think. Bring the latter on late. I’d rather we not bring him back too early if there’s any doubt he’s fully fit.

If we play that line up, although Liverpool on paper would be favourites, I'd want to see us be more proactive in attacks. Don't really want to see us camping in that.

Maguire instead of Evans I’d be thinking
Just read that Maguire will be fit for this

Honestly think we are winning this.

No logic or reason for it at all. Just a hunch.

With AWB and Holjund fit this should be a close game. We'll know within 15 mins if the players/crowd have belief.

If we lose the rest of the season will play out like the Ragnick one.

Honestly, a lot will depend on today's result. If we win, I can see him resting some players for the United game.

In summary, all United fans should be sat rooting for a Liverpool win....

I see no reason at all why today’s result would influence Liverpool’s team selection for the United game. Win, lose or draw today and you’ll still be in a challenging position as far as the title is concerned.

Yeah total guff. It's a cup QF at Utd, they won't be resting anyone.
