Everton Football Club, nicknamed The Toffees and The Blues, are a professional football club based in Liverpool, England; and were founded in 1878 as St Domingo's, a sports club for people from the parish of St Domingo's Methodist Church. Everton was a founding member of The Football League in 1888–89, and became the second club ever to be crowned champions of England, after Preston North End.

Historically, Everton are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won 9 League titles, a European Cup Winners' Cup, 5 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups; while hosting the talents of Dixie Dean, Gary Linekar, Alan Ball, Neville Southall, Kevin Ratcliffe, and current Manchester United star Wayne Rooney. Everton play their homes games at Goodison Park, and share a bitter, historic rivalry with cross-town neighbors Liverpool, with the matches between the two teams termed the Merseyside Derby.

If I see Rashford or Lingard anywhere near the starting XI I'm going to cry

    Team should be...

    -------------De Gea-------------
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    -------------Carrick-------------
    -----Herrera------Pogba------
    Mata--------Zlatan--------Mkhitaryan

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Memphis, Martial

    i want;
    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Carrick Herrera
    Mkhiki Pogba Martial
    Ibra

    I expect;
    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Darmian
    Pogba Herrera
    Lingard Mata Rashford
    Ibra

Going to be a tough match. Not confident. Away from home against a good team.

    De Gea

    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind

    Herrera Pogba

    Mkhitaryan Mata Martial

    Ibrahimovic

    Lingard Mata Rashford

    I agree with all that.

    De Gea

    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind

    Herrera Pogba

    Mkhitaryan Rooney Martial

    Ibrahimovic
    Rooney suspended.

    Looking forward to this

    ----------------------------------DDG--------------------------------
    Valencia-----------Jones-----------------Rojo---------------Blind
    -------------------------Pogba-------Herrera---------------------
    Mhiki--------------------------Mata-------------------------Martial
    ----------------------------Ibra-------------------------------------

maybe a bit attacking and he might throw Carrick in but hard to see him leave out Mhiki or Martial surely

Everton have been awful recently but they will raise their game

    De Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    Herrera - Pogba
    Mkhitaryan - Mata - Martial
    Zlatan

Just play this exact same team again and I'm confident.

Only change needed is pogba instead Rooney who's suspended and maybe play basti if carrick hasn't got it in his legs to go again so soon

That's literally all that needs changing, I swear to god if rashford and lingard are starting then I'm not even going to bother watching.

I'd play the exact same team as we did earlier, just start Blind at LB, Mata for Rooney and Pogba for Carrick

Basti on at the 81st minute if we have the lead

I want the same team as today, but with Pogba instead of Rooney and Blind instead of Shaw.

Rooney was great today, but one or two good games doesn't cancel out more than 2 years of generally bad performances. Especially when both Pogba and Mata have been better than him this season.

You just know that Lingard, Rashford at LW and Fellaini will start after this

Looks good to me, maybe Shaw at LB if fit. We need to give Mkhi a run of games and if Jose is serious about giving him a chance he should be starting him at every opportunity now.

Probably my least favourite away game - the cnuts always give everything to get one over us, but I expect them to be extra up for it this season after putting on the kind of performance in the Goodison game last season that they usually reserve for an away game at Liverpool

Good thing Pogba got a rest as did Mata. Still though my outlook would be pessimistic. We might sneak a win and hopefully we do, but if i was a betting man i would be thinking we will drop points.

It'll be hilarious and infuriating when he starts Lingard and Rashford at the weekend.

Given how Martial played tonight, he may start him (martial). Martial was up for it tonight. You could see it early on when he was running at defenders.

He might change it tactically and play for a one nil job like he tried against liverpool.

yeah, I fecking hate that, all guns blazing against us year in year out but turn up to the Merseyside derby half asleep, mugs.

Who is picking team and not selecting Martial on the left? Crazy he was head and shoulders are best outfield player last year. He needs a run in the team, he is a confidence skill player and they need games. Yes he will make silly mistakes but he attacks and creates chances.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    Herrera--Carrick--Pogba
    Mkhitaryan--Ibrahimovic--Martial

    or if 4-2-3-1

    Herrera--Pogba
    Mkhitaryan--Mata--Martial
    Ibrahimovic

I've not been very critical of Jose so far, keen to give him time but if he doesn't start Mkhi and Martial in this one I'll be baffled, he put the boot to their arses and he's gotten the response he wanted, now let them push on.

The big decision will be whether Pogba and Mata both come back in. We know Pogba will but it's whether Carrick drops out and Mata plays at #10 that is the question mark. Personally as well as Mata has been playing I'd go 4-3-3.

    De gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhiataryan Ibrahimovic Martial
Pains me not selecting Mata. But it being away to a solid team, we need that midfield, and of the front 3, who can you drop? Possibly Martial, but he provides that pace and cutting edge.

Same again please with Poggers to slot in where Rooney left off. Great seeing Basti back in the lineup. I'll be gutted if we regress against Everton at the weekend. If we played like that every weekend we would be giving most teams a fright.

But they will be tired after tonight and Everton have a weeks rest. I agree with you, i mean, they should after tonight start, but it wouldnt surprize me if he goes parking the bus and tries to hold out for a one goal win. TBH i wouldnt be confident against Everton at all.

I think if we start with that line-up and can get ahead Mata is a great one to come on for Martial and help control the game later on.

Hopefully he wont use the rest argument, Martial and Mkhi are both fit as fiddles and he's playing Pogba and Ibra for 90 minutes in every game, no reason they can't play again on Sunday afternoon. Even if we are more defensive Mkhi puts in plenty of work like Lingard, plus Jose should realize this is a better front foot side than defensive one.
