Crystal Palace Football Club (nicknamed CPFC, The Glaziers and The Eagles) are a professional football club based in South Norwood, London. Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 at the site of the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. When Crystal Palace were founded, they turned to one of the biggest clubs in the country at the time, Aston Villa, to seek advice. Villa helped the club in a number of ways, not least by donating their kit. As a result, Palace's colors were originally claret and blue shirts paired with white shorts, socks tending to be claret. They kept to this formula fairly consistently until 1938.

The club initially played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium which was situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, but the First World War saw them forced to move out, and they enjoyed a number of seasons at both the Herne Hill Velodrome and The Nest. Although Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, they have played in the First Division for the majority of their existence, finishing 3rd once, and losing the 1990 FA Cup Final to Manchester United. Crystal Palace play their homes games at Selhurst Park, and share sporting rivalries with South London neighbors Milwall, former tenants Charlton, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

    Team should be...

    ------------------De Gea------------------
    AWB---Varane---Martinez---Malacia
    -----------------Casemiro-----------------
    ----Fernandes---------Fred----
    Antony-------Martial-------Garnacho

Subs: Heaton, Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, McTominay, Eriksen, Rashford, Weghorst

Maybe the new boy in from the start of Martial is injured

Antony - Rashford - Garnacho front 3 please

I do prefer the league games.
Those mickey mouse cup games are a PITA.
    I expect 3 points, here.

Hate that this was put in between City and Arsenal ffs.

2-0 to Palace. A defeat to bring us back to earth with an overall poor performance

2 really tough away games coming up. I'd probably take 2 draws to be honest, or even 1 win 1 loss which I think would keep the momentum going quite well from this run of 3 games.

Casemiro 1 yellow away from suspension, need him for Arsenal. Tempting to rest him... Rashford as well I'd keep fresh for Arsenal. We do have Wout now... Martial injured probably.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
    McTominay Eriksen
    Antony Bruno Garnacho
    Wout

These are one of those teams alot like wolves.

Despite the fact they aren't that good. They'll turn up against us no doubt.

Would love to see weghorst start too.

It all depending on our expectations, if we're trying to win the whole thing we shouldn't be looking to win both but if it's only the top 4 2 draws will do as well, we're really well position now when it comes to the top 4.

Start Garnacho Rashford and Weghorst if Rashy is fit.

Casemiro is a yellow away from a bad before they reset to I think we got to rest him but Palace cen be a real bogey team so it's a tough one

Martial and Rashford could well both be out injured.

If they are, wouldn't mind Antony - Wout - Garnacho front three.

Probably better to not take risks and have a fit Rashford for the Arsenal game.

play our strongest available team, night game - no doubt there will be quite an atmosphere, smash the game raising gits to pieces, take the 3 pts and put the fear into the arsenal. thats the best prep for the arsenal game.

I'm not really thinking about end of season goals, it's just general team progression and what is a good group of results from certain groups of games. Nobody can win every game, we obviously aren't the finished product, and Rashford might have a niggle. City at home, Palace and Arsenal away in 1 week... That's a very tough run, getting 5 or 6 points from that group would be excellent IMO, and set us up to go on a very good run after that. Come April if we are actually in the title race, then different questions come in mind. But for now, we are still far off, and lack the attackers.

Arsenal will have a week rest before playing us next weekend so it will be interesting to see how we line up against Palace.

    Feck

what game would he miss? Arsenal or the next PL game after that?

I think a victory at Palace would be the best preparation for sure. But there should maybe be a couple of precautions, like Casemiro (close to suspension) and Varane (he's the one we need to really look after).

    --------------------------de Gea
    AWB-------Lindelof---------Martinez-----Shaw/Malacia (45mins each)
    -------------McTominay----Eriksen
    Antony----------------Bruno------------Garnacho
    -----------------------Martial/Rashford (45mins each)

Looks a lot weaker without the two world class players obviously, but we still have ensure Casemiro is available for Arsenal and protect Varane's fitness.

I know its not the right thread yet but I saw on Twitter that if Saliba and Saka would get booked against Spurs they won't play against us

Considering how shit our schedule usually is/will be, it's a nice change that for once the opposition are playing Sunday-Wednesday and have a day less of prep.

Hopefully we'll play better there now that ETH is in the dugout at Selhurst Park rather than the stands.

Dangerous but kinda feel like we’ve got to protect Varane, Shaw, Casemiro and Rashford. Played a lot of football of late but will be needed for Arsenal. Martial probably out with injury so big risk but.

    DDG
    Bissaka-Maguire-Martinez-Malacia
    McT-Fred
    Bruno
    Antony-Wout-Garnacho
That team puts the fear of death in to me but surely has enough to beat Palace.

Do we dare rest Rashford? Can Casemiro do 90 minutes? This is going to be really tough to manage, especially as 2 wins puts us right in the mix. I'd go with:

    DDG

    AWB
    Maguire
    Martinez
    Shaw (Malacia)

    Casemiro (Fred)
    McTominay
    Bruno (Eriksen)

    Antony
    Weghorst (Rashford)
    Garnacho (Elanga)

    Then go all-out for Arsenal:

    DDG

    AWB
    Varane
    Shaw
    Malacia

    Casemiro
    Fred
    Eriksen

    Bruno
    Martial
    Rashford

    We go for it!

Anyone think Weghorst will start this game? I hope he does but I’ve a feeling he’ll be on the bench. I’d have a front 3 of garnacho, wout, Antony. Rashfords needed for arsenal. Any news on sancho returning some point this week? Would be a good game to try and get him involved in before arsenal.

Please don’t feck this up united after winning against city.

Would Garnacho weghorst Antony be enough as front 3 to start with?

Would def keep Fred in, maybe rest Eriksen. Fred is in great form.

Hoping Rashford at least is fit. Not really keen in having to start Weghorst.

Maybe also a case for resting Case to the bench because if he picks up a yellow he would miss the Arsenal game.

Strongest team.. win please. need the 3 points going into the Arsenal game.
Chelsea play them tomorrow... and there is also the NLD..
    hoping for plenty of reds.

    Hopefully Weggy starts this one.

Garnacho, Weggy and Antony front three. Rest Rashford for Arsenal.

Bruno is always fit so no worries there. I would perhaps rest Eriksen and Casemiro. McFred should have enough about them to win this.

Same with the defense, I would go with Licha and Maguire to give Varane some rest before Arsenal.

Surely Palace will play their strongest 11 in a London derby and as their squad isn’t as strong as ours ( Utd have an extra day off too), it’s definitely advantage Utd on Wednesday.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rashford and Martial were out injured.

If Martial is fit then I'd start him instead of Weghorst

Need to win this so there's less pressure on the Arsenal game. 6/9 is much more than we could have hoped for from City, Palace away and Arsenal away.
