Leeds United Football Club (commonly known as just Leeds, and nicknamed The Whites and The Peacocks) is an English professional football club based in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Leeds United's predecessor club, Leeds City F.C., was formed in 1904, but was forcibly disbanded by The Football League in 1919 in response to allegations of financial irregularities regarding illegal payments to players during the First World War.Shortly after the disbanding of Leeds City a new club, Leeds United, was formed on 17 October 1919, under the management of former player Dick Ray. They began playing in the Midland League, taking the place vacated by Leeds City's reserve team. Yorkshire Amateurs, who occupied Elland Road, offered to make way for the new team.

In March 1961, the club appointed former player Don Revie as manager, following the resignation of Jack Taylor. His stewardship began in adverse circumstances andonly a win in the final game of the season saved the club from relegation to Division Three. Revie implemented a youth policy and a change of kit color to an all-white strip in the style of Real Madrid, and Leeds won promotion to the First Division in 1963–64. Subsequently, however, they emerged as a major force in English football, winning 2 First Division titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and a Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

Their second noteworthy spell began in the late 80s with the appointment of Howard Wilkinson. In 1989, the signing of Gordon Strachan from Manchester United for £300,000 proved to be a turning point. The Scottish midfielder was named captain, and helped Leeds win the Second Division in 1989–90 and gain promotion back to the First Division. Under Wilkinson Leeds finished fourth in 1990–91, and in the 1991–92 season they won the title of the last Division 1 as top tier. Ironically, the sale of Eric Cantona to Manchester United proved to be a turning point for his new club in a reversal of fortunes, and Leeds never won a league title again through the Premier League era.

Leeds United have rivalries with several clubs, including local rivalries with Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town, and national rivalries with Manchester United (arguably the strongest of them all), Chelsea and Millwall. Alex Ferguson spoke on the rivalry between Leeds United and Manchester United stating that playing against Leeds was a "frightening experience... I have always said Liverpool versus Manchester United games are fierce in many aspects. Sometimes supporters can play a bad part in that particular game. But it never reaches the levels of Leeds United. Never." Leeds play their home games at Elland Road.

Need to learn how to play without Casemiro again

Would like Scot for these games only, but he is also injured. We need to create and score more without the shield of Casemiro.

Forgot these turds even existed. Feels like we haven't battered them for about a year.

    De Gea

    Shaw
    Martinez
    Varane
    Dalot?

    Fred
    Sabitzer

    Garnacho
    Bruno
    Antony

    Rashford

Time to start playing Rashford through the middle. Weghorst ain't it and Martial should be written off for good now.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Malacia
    McTominay
    Fred - Bruno
    Antony - Rashford - Garnacho

    1-1

We've dicked these about with McTominay and Fred in midfield over the last few years so hopefully we won't miss Casemiro too much for the next couple. We just need to hope Sabitzer and Fred stay fit - that's 4 midfield options out for us now!

I'm so pissed off with Casemiro.

Everytime I think about this match I'll just think about how mad I am at Casemiro

Not the worst 3 games for Casemiro to miss. Sabitzer to come right in. Would being Sancho in too, Weghorst shouldn't be starting every game

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
    Sabitzer Fred
    Antony Bruno Sancho
    Rashford

No Case, but hope Salzibar (lols) can fill in nicely

Well spank Leeds anyway, won’t need a top class DM to win this game

As long as we keep Willy Gnonto quiet we will win this.

he is there only threat really going forward.

I think Sabitzer has to come straight in here otherwise we just have no options in midfield. Creativity is a big issue w/o Eriksen and Bruno really needs to step up in these games.

Defence picks itself, maybe with Dalot coming in although don't think ETH will start him.

    Probably another close/hard fought win.

    Its on sky folks.

edit: i think its not actually. Says on flashsport that it is but not on the sky website though. I guess not.

Hopefully we can deal without Casemiro decently for the home game. Away game might be more awkward.
But at least he can be fresh for the two Barcelona games, as otherwise there was the guarantee he'd play both games before then.

Should be able to win it despite not having Casemiro. Our home record is glorious.

Might soon be using slabhead as defensive midfield?

There being no way to legally watch this in England is absolutely bonkers.

If I recall correctly it's legal to watch European satellite broadcasts. Just nobody does, despite being way cheaper than Sky.

    My line-up is:
    De Gea

    Dalot
    Varane
    Martinez
    Shaw

    Sabitzer
    Fred

    Sancho
    Bruno
    Garnacho

    Rashford

    De Gea
    Dalot--Varane--Martinez--Shaw
    Sabitzer--Fred
    Antony--Bruno--Garnacho
    Rashford

Need Sancho to get minutes. Second half sub for Antony or Nacho.

    DDG
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Sabitzer - Fred
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Weghorst
I still think Rashford is better on the left so no other option than to start Weghorst.

It's not ideal but not sure what other option we have?

And after being out for so long there's no way Sancho starts this one.
I just wonder if there’s an outside chance that we put Lindelof in defensive midfield

Comfortable victory. Leeds will offer feck all.
