Watford Football Club (nicknamed The Hornets, The Golden Boys, Yellow Army, and The 'Orns), are a professional football club based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Watford Rovers was formed in 1881 by Henry Groverand, who went on to play for the club as a fullback. Rovers, originally composed entirely of amateur players, held home games at several locations in the town of Watford. The team first competed in the FA Cup in the 1886-87 season, and in 1889 Watford won the County Cup for the first time. Renamed as West Hertfordshire in 1893, Rovers joined the Southern Football League in 1896, and started to pay professional footballers in 1897. West Hertfordshire merged with local rivals Watford St. Mary's in 1898; the merged team was named Watford Football Club.

After spending almost half century in the lower divisions of The Football League, Watford enjoyed its greatest era of success following Graham Taylor's appointment in 1977, rising from the Fourth Division to the First Division. The team also finished second in the First Division in the 1982/83 season, competed in the UEFA Cup in 1983/ 1984, and reached the 1984 FA Cup Final where they faced Howard Kendall's Everton. Watford's most prominent rivalry is with fellow South-Eastern English club Luton Town, and they have been playing their home games at Vicarage Road since 1922.

    Who the feck cares

    Shut down the club

We’ll win this thankfully as we are a much better away team

If we play to the best of our ability we have the capability to make it difficult for them

First real test for "insert new manager". No idea how we start, who plays and who does not.

Should be a fun game. Ben Foster in goal should make for a nice Matchday Vlog.

A nice comfortable away win to welcome a bit of a easier stretch of games bar Chelsea.

Excellent game for Improvisation FC. This team don't need a manager to beat Watford

We're gonna pick up form again, but this time it will only just be for 90 minutes.

    I‘d like to see,

    …………………De Gea
    AWB….Lindelof…Maguire….Telles
    ………..Fred………..VDB
    Sancho…..Bruno…….Rashford
    ……………..Ronaldo

Shaw has to dropped, he’s been awful this year, so has Maguire but I’m not a Bailly fan so he stays in till Varane is back.

The McFred axis has been awful this season so I’ll keep Fred cause he at least runs where as McT jogs.

Was tempted to drop Bruno tbh, he’s become very petulant and forcing his play, he needs to keep it simple.

Excited for this. Should be a new manager in charge, right?
We all hold out hope that the next manager can sort out this flaky group of United players who in games against their biggest rivals this season at home have chosen to show no intensity, heart, effort, passion and a pure lack of desire.

Yeah. Let's terminate the contracts of the the entire playing squad and install a statue for the manager while tying him down to 20 year contract. That'll do us good.

People always say "this group" even though "this group" changes every year as we spend more money than anyone else. The logic that mentality is an issue with our players is just so wrong and misguided. A good coach gets the players believing. A good coach gets them to perform. It's not effort or desire, it's a system that enables players to play well and work together which will build the mentality naturally. All the best players in the world with impeccable mentalities wouldn't work under a garbage manager who doesn't implement any system.

This would be his last game, we'll lose 2-1 and all hell would break loss!!

I don't care. I can't get excited for anything related to United with Ole at the wheel.

We tend to be a sluggish after an international break.

    And before one.

    And in fairness, in between..

Apart from Ronaldo all of today's starting 11 have been United players for couple or a number of seasons now.

I’m sick of seeing no heart and desire from the same players who tweet after matches about how sorry they are about poor they performed and how they should do better… Pulling out of 50/50 challenges in a Derby game just doesn’t sit right with me… but like yourself I'd hope a new manager and coaches can sort of the bad habits that has been developed in this group of players.

As bad as it sounds, it's just hard for players to give 110% every single game when they get passed off the park half the time. When they are set up really poorly. When the coach makes horrible decisions time after time. Players are supposed to go out there and run their socks off.... but when the opposition handles that unorganized press period with ease, it's incredibly demotivating for all of them. You can't just run around without a plan, but thats how we do it. The mentality with our group is/was fine for a long time. They go into a game all motivated. A smart coach picks them off with ease. Team gradually gets demotivated as a result of horrible tactics/instructions because the instructions just don't work.
