Leeds United Football Club (commonly known as just Leeds, and nicknamed The Whites and The Peacocks) is an English professional football club based in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Leeds United's predecessor club, Leeds City F.C., was formed in 1904, but was forcibly disbanded by The Football League in 1919 in response to allegations of financial irregularities regarding illegal payments to players during the First World War.Shortly after the disbanding of Leeds City a new club, Leeds United, was formed on 17 October 1919, under the management of former player Dick Ray. They began playing in the Midland League, taking the place vacated by Leeds City's reserve team. Yorkshire Amateurs, who occupied Elland Road, offered to make way for the new team.

In March 1961, the club appointed former player Don Revie as manager, following the resignation of Jack Taylor. His stewardship began in adverse circumstances andonly a win in the final game of the season saved the club from relegation to Division Three. Revie implemented a youth policy and a change of kit color to an all-white strip in the style of Real Madrid, and Leeds won promotion to the First Division in 1963–64. Subsequently, however, they emerged as a major force in English football, winning 2 First Division titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and a Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

Their second noteworthy spell began in the late 80s with the appointment of Howard Wilkinson. In 1989, the signing of Gordon Strachan from Manchester United for £300,000 proved to be a turning point. The Scottish midfielder was named captain, and helped Leeds win the Second Division in 1989–90 and gain promotion back to the First Division. Under Wilkinson Leeds finished fourth in 1990–91, and in the 1991–92 season they won the title of the last Division 1 as top tier. Ironically, the sale of Eric Cantona to Manchester United proved to be a turning point for his new club in a reversal of fortunes, and Leeds never won a league title again through the Premier League era.

Leeds United have rivalries with several clubs, including local rivalries with Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town, and national rivalries with Manchester United (arguably the strongest of them all), Chelsea and Millwall. Alex Ferguson spoke on the rivalry between Leeds United and Manchester United stating that playing against Leeds was a "frightening experience... I have always said Liverpool versus Manchester United games are fierce in many aspects. Sometimes supporters can play a bad part in that particular game. But it never reaches the levels of Leeds United. Never." Leeds play their home games at Elland Road.

    Team should be...

    -----------------Henderson-----------------
    AWB--Lindelof--Maguire-- Shaw
    -----McTominay-----Fred-----
    James---------Bruno---------Rashford
    ----------------Greenwood----------------

Subs: De Gea, Tuanzebe, Williams, Matic, Pogba, Mata, VDB, Cavani

Nice to have a week off but need to manage the squad with the Roma and Liverpool games after this

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Pogba
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

1-1 until the 70-80 minute mark then Rashford comes off and we win 2 or 3-1

The last time we play them.. who cares.. League position doesnt matter..
Getting expelled from the Europa league.. Should have let Granada win... now Roma will get a pass.

First time this season we have a midweek off/full week rest before a game! Anyway, same thing we did in the home leg against them please. Different

    Henderson
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Mctominay Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Pogba
    Rashford

Leave Cavani on the bench to keep him fresh for Roma/Liverpool.

I hate the 2pm kick-off, I am sure it'll be McFred given Leeds pressing energy and I think Cavani will start as Marcus seemed to re-injure his ankle.

Whatever happens the media with be spunking their loads everywhere at Leeds just like in the first game when they let 6 feckers in.

As footballers always say "we are focused on the next game" despite the footballing world going into free fall around them.

    Let's stuff these yorkshire spuds!

Their cup final so they'll want to impress which will likely suit us.
    3-1 win.

First time In a while we have had a full week between games also think it’s the only full week off until last 2 games

Should be a team that suit us, aggressive pressing team without real quality in defence, need to take our chances and hope for Lindelof to have a good game, perhaps I wouldn't be opposed to play with Tuanzebe this time..

Tough set of fixtures coming up. Baring in mind we’ll have Roma in the semi then Liverpool I wouldn’t mind some slight rotation.

    Henderson
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    McTominay - Donny
    James - Bruno - Pogba
    Greenwood

    De Gea

    Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw

    McTominay
    Pogba
    Bruno

    Rashford
    Cavani
    Greenwood

We will need to play a hell of a lot better than we did against Burnley - and, shock, horror - for two halves! Have a feeling we will come unstuck here; have to presume we are due a loss away in the PL at some stage...

In a couple hours I think this game may very well be cancelled.

Hard for me to get too excited about the game with all the soap opera going on around it.

But, just focusing on the game itself, then I think we should go with McTominay and Fred again. There was valid arguments against starting with it at home to Burnley, but Leeds away is more the kind of game we need that partnership for.

So I'd go probably go with the same team v Burnley:

    Henderson

    Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw

    McTominay
    Fred

    Greenwood
    Fernandes
    Pogba

    Rashford

But I can see Cavani starting, having only been rested v Burnley. Whether that's instead of either Greenwood or Rashford, or we go more attacking with Pogba back as a CM I'm not sure. But, for me, Leeds away is the kind of game for McTominay and Fred, and to keep one of the attackers on the bench. With all three starting, there's very little attacking threat to come on other than winger / AM options like James and VDB.
