Manchester City Football Club (nicknamed City, The Citizens, and The Sky Blues), are a professional football club based in Manchester, England. City were founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), before being renamed as Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887, and finally Manchester City in 1894 - and the origins can be traced back to members of St. Mark's Church of England, West Gorton — who founded the football club that would become known as Manchester City, for largely humanitarian purposes. Two church wardens sought to curb local gang violence and alcoholism by instituting new activities for local men, whilst high unemployment plagued East Manchester, specifically Gorton. All men were welcome to join, regardless of religion.

The team's first recorded match occurred on 13 November 1880, and City gained their first honors by winning the Second Division in 1899 — with it came promotion to the highest level in English football, the First Division. In the seasons following the FA Cup triumph of 1904, the club was dogged by allegations of financial irregularities, culminating in the suspension of seventeen players in 1904, including captain Billy Meredith, who subsequently moved across town to Manchester United. Almost half a century later later, a City team inspired by a tactical system known as the Revie Plan reached consecutive FA Cup finals again, in 1955 and 1956; just as in the 1930s, they lost the first one, to Newcastle United, and won the second. The club continued to challenge for honors throughout the 1970s, finishing one point behind the league champions on two occasions and reaching the final of the 1974 League Cup.

Prior to the takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the club had enjoyed moderate levels of success through their history — however, since the start of the current decade, City have been buoyed by the signings of Sergio Agüero, Yaya Touré, David Silva, Vincent Kompany — and have emerged as perpetual title contenders Vincent Kompany winning the league four times and repeatedly finishing in the Top 3. City play their homes games at the Etihad Stadium, and their biggest rivals are neighbors and opponents for the game, Manchester United.

If we're going to play like this, just forfeit the game and rest the players for the next one.

    0-0

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McFred
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

Man City have won their last 21 games in all competitions.

Man Utd are unbeaten in their last 21 away games in the Premier League.

One of those runs ends here.

Another game where the bus is parked, but by us.

If everything goes to plan expect a 0-0 snooze fest.

Just watch City school us on how to attack as a unit. How to move and pass to break teams down, which we dont have.

A draw would be a decent bet, but City will dominate.

Hope I'm wrong but City will comfortably keep a clean sheet against United and score 2 or 3 goals.

This Sunday will likely be the end of the away unbeaten run and I suppose better to end it against the best team in league than against some mediocre team.

We'll set up for a draw and hopefully they won't score. I expect the team below to start.

    Henderson
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    McFred
    James - Bruno - Rashford
    Cavani

3-0 City sadly. Can't see us even having a shot on target.

0-2 City. I don't think they'll even have to get out of their first gear for this.

Would take another shitty 0-0 but think we will lose. A thumping wouldn’t surprise me but my guess is 2-0. I wanna see some fecking fight though. Wake the feck up boys.

We’re in shit form. They are flying. At least I won’t have to stress over this in the coming days as all signs point to an easy win for them, maybe even a thumping.

Only see we have a chance on the counterattacks. They'll keep the ball like prime Barca under Guardiola did and pressure us hard like Peps teams always does, but hopefully we'll score on the few chances we'll mosty likely get. Maybe James instead of Greenwood on either right or left simply because of his speed.

I wouldn’t play Bruno here. He turns over possession too easily and it will be extremely limited here. I’d pick an XI I can trust to execute a very functional, disciplined, counter-attacking performance.

City's defence is absolutely rock solid.

We'll struggle to get at them as we did before.

Counter has broken down in recent weeks as well.

Yeah hard to argue with those who say that 14 month run will come to a brutal end on Sunday, part of me wonders whether that might bring about a back to the drawing board approach but highly doubt it

    Then who creates something?

    0-0 or 1-0 City.
Not expecting a host of goals or chances in this. I am rather confident it'll be quite a dull affair though.

I predict that Ole will try the same tactics yet again but this time he comes up again someone who has the quality attack to find a way through
