    Sheffield United Football Club (nicknamed The Blades because of Sheffield's history as a steel city, Red and White Wizards and Red and White Army) is an English professional football club based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Sheffield United was founded on 22 March 1889 at the Adelphi Hotel, Sheffield by the President of the Cricket Club, Charles Clegg (also the President of Sheffield Wednesday and later the Chairman of the Football Association).

    Sheffield United's greatest years came immediately after their formation — as they enjoyed an unbroken 37-season spell in the top flight (which remains a record for a newly promoted team) won the League Championship in 1897/98, and were runners up in 1896/97 and 1899/1900. Since then Sheffield battled relegation to lower divisions, with the nadir proving to be the 1978/79 season where they were relegated to the Third Division. They enjoyed better years after the turn of the millennium — narrowly missing out on promotion playoffs for the Premier League in 2003/04 and 2004/05 (eventually securing promotion in 2006); as well as reaching the FA Cup and League Cup semi-finals. However, they were again relegated to the League One on 30 April 2011.

    Sheffield United's most noteworthy rivalries include city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday (dubbed the Steel City Derby), Nottingham Forest, Barnsley, Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Rotherham United. Sheffield United play their home games at the historic Bramall Lane, the oldest major league ground in the world, having hosted its first game in 1862 a match between Sheffield Club and and Hallam. It also hosted the world's first ever floodlit football match on 14 October 1878.

    Excited to see the most Championship strikeforce in the history of the Premier League up against Baz Maguire and co. McBurnie will turn into a ginger bearded Ronaldo.
     
    Jesus, for how long will we play two games a week? Ole will have to start rotating more now or our top players will be ran into the ground before new year.
     
    Hopefulyl Henderson, Cavani and VdB will start. Also, AWB could do with a rest.
     
    Don't quite get the negativity. We've got 13/15 in league, pool and spurs will have played the night before and should absolutely be looking for 6 points from next 2 games. Most would have loved to be here pre season, or this stage last season.

    It would be typical of us to be Sheffield's first 3 points of the season. :lol:

    Tbf to them, they've only lost most games by a goal. So I think it will be a 2-0 win at best.

    I'd rest Lindelöf, Fred and Rashford. Don't risk Cavani if not fully fit. Leeds 3 days later.
     
    This will be Sheffield United's first win of the season. It's just that kind of season.

    I mean....every other team will have to do this too. Sheffield United have been so poor this year, so feel it's a nice one to have on a Thurs, then Leeds will be a real fitness test

    Wishful thinking but Bruno, AWB and Shaw will play. OGS rarely rotates the players he trusts.

    We will start to pick up muscle injuries if he doesn't start.

    The busiest part of the season starts this week. We play 9 games (10 if we beat Everton) over the next 30 days.

    Sheffield Utd (A) - easy on paper
    Leeds (H) - Their first PL game against us in over a decade, so they will be up for it
    Everton (A) - League Cup - Ancelotti is a knockout game specialist
    Leicester (A) - Having a good season
    Wolves (H) - Our bogey team
    Villa (H) - Flying high this season
    Watford (H) - FA Cup - they should have bigger priorities
    League Cup SF?
    Fulham (A) - easy on paper
    Liverpool (A) - Anfield is always tough

    The bolded are the only ones that don't concern me.

    Leicester looks tough on paper but we tend to cope with them very well. Wolves arent much these days and only try to shithouse their way to draws against us anyway.

    Doubt it. We drew our first game today after winning 4 in a row in the league. If youre hoping we lose easier games that puts us in the title mix because you hate Ole then you should find another team to follow imo

    The way I see it is we haven't won our last 2 games. A slip up against Sheffield and a defeat against Leeds would add to those results and tighten the noose.

    Good thing I couldn't care less about your opinion. I doubt you care about anyone's either.
