Crystal Palace Football Club (nicknamed CPFC, The Glaziers and The Eagles) are a professional football club based in South Norwood, London. Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 at the site of the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. When Crystal Palace were founded, they turned to one of the biggest clubs in the country at the time, Aston Villa, to seek advice. Villa helped the club in a number of ways, not least by donating their kit. As a result, Palace's colors were originally claret and blue shirts paired with white shorts, socks tending to be claret. They kept to this formula fairly consistently until 1938.

The club initially played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium which was situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, but the First World War saw them forced to move out, and they enjoyed a number of seasons at both the Herne Hill Velodrome and The Nest. Although Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, they have played in the First Division for the majority of their existence, finishing 3rd once, and losing the 1990 FA Cup Final to Manchester United. Crystal Palace play their homes games at Selhurst Park, and share sporting rivalries with South London neighbors Milwall, former tenants Charlton, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Sorry I left it so late to get this all setup.

We've only made one signing right? And Henderson is back.

If anyone is missing from the lineup prediction list (or shouldn't be there), let me know.

No pre season. First team players in all sorts of trouble throughout the summer. Just the one signing. This will be Ole's first real test.

    De Gea
    AWB - Maguire - Upamecano - Telles
    Pogba - Van de Beek
    Sancho - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial

    In before the other muppets.

I expect us to be a bit lethargic as we've barely had a pre-season and players are at different levels of fitness depending on their involvement with their national teams.

I'm hopeful for 1-0 nothing to write home about win.

Disappointed at the failure to bring in any more new blood this summer but absolutely buzzing for this regardless. We still have the same excellent core that shone when Bruno was added to the mix, and although they will suffer badly as the season goes on without better back-up in the squad, we should at least initially expect to see some good stuff and some good results!

Hoping for the 'basic' line-up, i.e.:

    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Matic
    Bruno
    Greenwood Martial Rashford

With VDB to come on for one of the midfielders in the second half.

Think Donny might start, not really sure what to expect from the match just glad we’re back.

    David de Gea

    Bissaka lindelof Maguire shaw

    Vdb Matic

    Bruno

    Mason Tony Rashy

    DeGea

    AWB Lindelolf Maguire Shaw

    Pogba Fred

    Greenwood Bruno Rashford

    Martial.

    Chong is gone.

Lingard and Mata should be midfielders? They're no more 'forwards' than Bruno who is listed is a MF.

Player profiles aren't linked to their threads.

19/20 season isn't linked in the match day section.

    Dean Henderson's shirt number isn't 34.

This is going to get hard. Palace are hard to score against and deadly on the counter.
I say 1-0 or 2-1 to us. Martial goal and maybe Rashford with one.

My first ever comment on match day section. Hope a nice win to start the season. 3-1 utd.

    De gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Matic
    Fernandes Van de beek Rashford
    Martial

We'll probably be one of a few teams in the league Fielding a starting XI with zero new signings, so that's a nice thought. Anyways reckon it will be pretty lethargic from us, narrow 2-1 with Martial and Bruno to score.

Same team that was starting every week end of last season if possible. Is everyone fit?

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Fred VdB
    James Bruno Rashford
    Martial

Reckon we go like this. Pogba bench because of corona to give him time to get up to speed, Greenwood bench because of his England thing for developmental reasons. Maybe McTominay or Matic instead of Fred, could go either way that. Wan Bissaka I hear also has had an interrupted pre season, but we don't have many fullbacks... maybe Williams right back for first game?

    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Fred
    Bruno VDB
    Greenwood Martial Rashford

    VDB will probably start.

Would be good to see Penandes in action again.

Thanks, will get all that sorted. What is Henderson number now?

A win would set the tone for the whole season. A win without a pre season, with just one new addition, the team will be buzzing and we will go on to win the league. A loss would be disastrous, and could damage the lads confidence and it will be hard to overcome. Could see a relegation battle in that case.

A draw would probably see us finish midtable. Hope the lads realise what's at stake, I will he watching this from behind the sofa.

Not for this game, and probably not anytime soon, but I reckon Ethan Galbraith will get a few appearances this season so I don't know if you want to add him just yet.

I like it. That gets my vote. If I were to nitpick, I'd throw Matic in there for VDB, for balance. VDB from the bench.

    Goalkeeper will be ddg.

I think the backline will be the usual suspects.

Midfield vdb and fred, matic and pogba comes on in the second half to stabilise.

Attack, the four amigos with james coming in to get some minutes in.

Please score from open play. i think we used up 2 season's worth of our penalty quota last season.
