Crystal Palace Football Club (nicknamed CPFC, The Glaziers and The Eagles) are a professional football club based in South Norwood, London. Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 at the site of the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. When Crystal Palace were founded, they turned to one of the biggest clubs in the country at the time, Aston Villa, to seek advice. Villa helped the club in a number of ways, not least by donating their kit. As a result, Palace's colors were originally claret and blue shirts paired with white shorts, socks tending to be claret. They kept to this formula fairly consistently until 1938.

The club initially played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium which was situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, but the First World War saw them forced to move out, and they enjoyed a number of seasons at both the Herne Hill Velodrome and The Nest. Although Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, they have played in the First Division for the majority of their existence, finishing 3rd once, and losing the 1990 FA Cup Final to Manchester United. Crystal Palace play their homes games at Selhurst Park, and share sporting rivalries with South London neighbors Milwall, former tenants Charlton, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Err muh gurrr probably lose or something cos Mourinho will set up for a draw.

    4-0 United, Martial x2.

I'm seeing g 3 changes. Pogba back in midfield for Fellaini, Mata and Sanchez in for Lingard and Rashford.

Don't know what I'm more sick of - our non-existent attack, our non-existent defence, or these constant international breaks.

Thank feck the awful run is over. Hope we won't lose any players during the break and get Pogba back.

    Please don't play Lukaku

I couldn't give a shit if he scores 20 goals for Belgium between now and then I do not want to see him start

The game would be quite open and i think Martial will have a field day. Lets go with

    Martial ----- Sanchez -------- Rashford

Start of a very friendly run of games this. Play 4 of the worst sides in the division in our next 6 ganes. Great chance to nullify the loss today.

    Team should be...

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Lindelof--Young
    ----------------Matic----------------
    ----------Fred---------Pogba----------
    Mata----------Sanchez----------Martial

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Darmian, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Lukaku

If Pogba is still injured then Herrera in for him. Sucks that Shaw is suspended

At least we have to make it tough for them.
Hope we continue with our fluid attack and solid defense.

    4-0 United, Martial x2.

Jose won't be setting up for a draw. Well, maybe in the first half, but in the second half, if we aren't leading, he'll throw the kitchen sink at CP until they concede.
And regarding 4-0: we can't keep a clean sheet. I think CP will score 1 or 2 goals. We'll outscore them, though.

    I'd like

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Young--Smalling--Lindelof--Shaw
    ----------------Fellaini----------------
    ----------Fred---------Pogba----------
    Mata----------Sanchez----------Martial

But I'm sure Matic will play, possibly Herrera and maybe Jesse or Rashford/Rom.

If after a further break this weekend Jose thinks Lukaku is ready to go back in I wouldn't mind him starting, but I'd prefer to give Sanchez a chance up top. Jesse and Rashford I'd prefer not to see starting and Herrera only in place of Fellaini as I'd like to see him redeem himself after the derby but not to the detriment of Fred, who should play.

I can see something similar to last season's away game (the 3-2). Crystal Palace can score goals and we can't defend.

Is Valencia injured? He got suspiciously injured around the same time when he liked that post.

    De Gea
    Young - Smalling - Lindelof - Darmian
    Fred - Herrera - Pogba
    Sanchez - Lukaku - Martial

    International break. :(
Yeah, that time in the season when various players get to say cryptic things to their national paper/news outlets, implying that they are unhappy with Mourinho/the club then get to say it was misinterpreted.

I wonder who’ll be first

    Who cares, really.

    -------------------DDG-------------------
    Young----Smalling---Lindelöf------Shaw
    -----------Static------Fellaini------------
    Rashford------Pogba-------------Martial
    ---------------Sanchez-------------------

SUBS - Herrera (Fellaini), Mata (Martial), Lingard (Rashford).

    Man United 2 - 0 Crystal Palace
    Own goal.
    Mata.

    Early team news

The match may be 12 days away, but there is some early team news in that Luke Shaw will not be playing against Crystal Palace. This is because he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Manchester City yesterday and as a result is suspended for one game.

Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba have been withdrawn from the France squad after their doctor inspected the players and discovered injuries. Whether the injuries will rule both players out of the Palace match remains to be seen.
Luke Shaw has been below par since he signed the contract, picking up silly yellows every game. Not surprised at the suspension.

Fred and Mata from the start please. How do we not have proper cover at left-back, I suppose Rojo could play there in a pinch and Young was decent there last season but it's telling we can't get a Holebas, Tierney or Cresswell in to provide cover and proper competition for Shaw.

you know what? We might even win this one. but we'll play the first 20 mins as if they are Liverpool/City/Barca

Unfortunately, if Pogs is still injured, then I worry. At least he will give them something to think about. Palace have pace, and will see this as one of those games they have nowt' to lose.

Our saving grace is that Benteke is really awful.

Crystal Palace are desperate for results. They're not coming here to lie down.
This will be another scrappy win.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Smalling - Lindelof - Young
    Andreas - Fellaini - Pogba
    Mata - Sanchez - Martial

As of now Palace have Tomkins, Wan Bissaka, Benteke and Zaha all as doubtful for the match. Their attacking options will be limited to Sörloth and Ayew who have scored no goals this season. Wan Bissaka also important for them. Will be very difficult for them, luckily for them, there's almost two weeks to go.

Don't really care anymore. Want us to win of course but Jose needs sacking for the good of the clubs future.

You don't care but coulnd't resist the urge to post anyway? Here, have some attention that you so obviously need.

Get Rashford in there. Mata before Rashford? Sanchez before Rashford?

Our front three should be Martial/Sanchez/Rashford. They all can interchange.... lead the line, drift in from right or left. Those three should be causing carnage across the Premiership, supported by Pogs. Throw Fellani in there, and then any midfield and defence is going to have a handful.

Not perfect, but should be damn sight well more competitive than our current situ.

I mean I still watch every single game etc just explained myself poorly. I mean I don't care in terms of hoping we will finally improve under Jose. It just won't happen not without backing him to high heaven in Jan. He isn't going to get anything of note out of these players.

i'l still be delighted when we win, dejected when we lose. It's just we need a proper change at this club. Really that needs to be with the owners and bard as well as the manager but the latter is the only one that has any hope of coming true in the near future.

Perhaps go in at half time 1-0 down and then smash them in the 2nd half?
I'd quite like that. We gave them hope in the 1st half, then took it all away in the 2nd half.

Jose gets his "home friendly" after some games on the road. Chance to start with Matic, Fellaini and Lukaku

Just realized that over the next two match weekends, we have

    AFC Vs Arsenal
    Watford Vs Pool
    Spurs Vs Chelsea

    City Vs AFC
    Arsenal Vs Spurs

We absolutely need to win next 2 PL games. There are so many dropped points that we could catch up if we win against Palace and Southampton

Yes, and the third weekend we play Arsenal ourselves. Next three gameweeks are more crucial for the top 4 race than the match against City. Just a month to go til we go to Anfield too :nervous:
