Brighton & Hove Albion (nicknamed The Seagulls and Albion), are a professional football club based in Brighton & Hove. The club was first formed as Brighton & Hove United on 24 June 1901, and the name was quickly changed to Brighton & Hove Albion. The club took the place of a defunct club, Brighton & Hove Rover, in the Southern League In the Southern League they won their only national honour to date, the FA Charity Shield, by defeating Football League Champions Aston Villa in 1910. There had previously been Old Brightonians, representing the area in the FA Cup in the 19th Century. The club initially played at the Hove County Ground, with a few games were also at Goldstone Ground that was used by Hove F.C. From 1902 onwards, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and Hove F.C. shared the Gladstone Ground. In 1920, 19 years after the club was formed, they were elected to the Football League's new Third Division.

Mismanagement brought Brighton close to relegation from the Football League to the Conference which they narrowly avoided in 1997 and 1998. A boardroom takeover saved Brighton from liquidation, and following successive promotions they returned to the second tier of English football in 2002, from then on playing in the second and third tiers of English football until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, where the club earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, marking the end of a 34-year absence from the top flight. Bighton's fans consider Crystal Palace to be their biggest rivals with matches between them termed the M23 derby, and they play their home games at Falmer Stadium.

    Team should be...

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Lindelof--Young
    ----------------Matic----------------
    -------Herrera-------Pogba-------
    Mata---------Lukaku---------Martial

Subs: Pereira, Rojo, Shaw, Fellaini, Lingard, Sanchez, Rashford

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Lindelof Young
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Rashford Sanchez Martial
If Lukaku is injured. Maybe Lingard for Herrera and go 4-2-3-1, but something like this. Either Sanchez or Martial through the middle, not Rashford since he can't handle playing as a lone striker. He has to be in a front 2 or out wide.

If Lukaku and Jones are still injured, it'll be:

    De Gea
    Valencia Lindelof Smalling Young
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Sanchez

Any Beijing guys here? Need venue advice, please tag any Chinese reds.

Mate, kickoff will be like 4am over there. I seriously doubt your chances of finding a bar open at that time, that is showing sport. Nightclub/karaoke spots, yes. Sports bars, highly doubtful. I lived in China for a year, never saw a PL game in a bar. The time difference and lack of general interest in 'soccer'. However, Beijing COULD be a bit different being such a huge city, though I was in a modern city myself.

    Valencia--------------Smalling--------Lindelof------------------------Young
    ----------------------McTominay------Matic-------------------------------------
    ---Lingard------------------Pogba---------------------------Sanchez
    ----------------------------Rashford----------------------------------------

SUBS - Martial (Sanchez), Fellaini (Pogba), Mata (Lingard)

    Brighton 0 - 1 Man United
    Sanchez

An even worse game than today, with 2 shots on target.

Need to secure that 2nd place before the FA cup final. Hopefully a win with no injuries.

    DDG
    Bailly Smalling Lindelof Shaw
    Lingard Matic Herrera Pogba
    Alexis Martial

We need to play a team that can get the ball on the ground and play football. What is there to play for? We are guaranteed top 4 and 2nd is almost wrapped up. Time to show a bit of bravery in our line ups. I'm assuming Lukaku is out. If so Unleash Alexis and Martial as the two strikers.

Will a win here secure second? If so, play withe the best 11, and blood some youngsters in the last game, If not, play the best 11 here and best 11 in the West Ham game, but have some youngsters on the bench that can come in as subs if we have the win in hand in the last PL game..

Can see Rashford and Martial starting this. Should be a professional 2-0 win.

    DDG
Valencia- Smalling - Lindelof - Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera - Pogba
    Lingard- Rashfrod - Martial

No I figured the same, thanks though. First few missed games in many years, glad they are meaningless. Back for FA Cup final.

I think he might switch the forwards up due to Lukaku's injury and I'm guessing his beloved will get a start in midfield.

Can we play a different right back? Really dont care who. Play shaw LB and Young RB even. Surely its got to be better than Valencia. So much space to exploit nothing good comes out of the right at all.

I wouldn't mind seeing Martial up top and Sanchez, Rashford either side. Similar to the Everton away setup.

Will be an absolutely borefest and 1-0 either way.

It won’t matter who we bring in for next season either. This is the Mourinho way and we are stuck with it, as he is too stuck in his ways to change.

Strangely, never had an issue with finding an open bar showing PL football in Tokyo, Sydney, Jordan...etc

Maybe try a 352 to make up for Lukaku not playing.

I love a bit of Friday night football. We do need to nail down 2nd and players should be playing for a place in the final, also Brighton still need points so there should be plenty at stake. Team should be the same as Arsenal but with Martial in for Rom. It’ll surely be Rashford though.

I am lucky enough to be going to this game (over from Australia on a holiday).
Any easy meeting points round the ground or decent pubs? I’m meeting an old friend & need a place to catch up. PM me please if you know the area... TIA.

    De Gea
    Valencia Lindelof Jones Young
    Matic Fellaini Pogba
    Mata Rashford Sanchez

Think there should be only one change with the team and thats Lukaku's replacement i.e. Rashford/Martial. Perhaps a change for Lindelof if Jones is healthy

Even though Fellaini scored the winner and is healthy again, don't think we should bench Herrera for him

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Jones Young
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Lingard Sanchez Martial

    Valencia Smalling Lindelof Young
    Fellaini Matic Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Sanchez

I would like to see this.
    DDG
    Valencia-Smalling-Bailly-Young
    Matic-Pogba
    Mata-Lingard-Sanchez
    Martial

Lingard Fellaini and Lindelof to start for me. We need our best players to start imo

    Agreed.
And if Fellaini starts, it'll be 3 points in the bag. The guy is unstoppable.
And after scoring the winning goal for the 2nd game in a row, we should announce his 5 year contract.

    Martial Sanchez Rashford
    Pogba Matic Herrera
    Young Smalling Lindelof Valencia
    De Gea
Pls. Don't put Rashford as the striker, he's better wide. Don't put Sanchez out wide, he's better centrally. Keep natural width from Martial and rashford, let pogba join the attack, press them and attack. Should be comfortable.
