Arsenal Football Club (also known as The Gunners), are a professional football club based in Holloway, London. In late 1886, a gaggle of workers from the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory decided to form a football team. They called themselves Dial Square as a reference to the sundial atop the entrance to the factory. On December 11, 1886, Dial Square romped to a 6-0 victory over Eastern Wanderers; the first game in their initial guise. Shortly afterwards the name ‘Royal Arsenal’ was adopted. Today, Arsenal are one of the most successful and popular clubs in the history of the English league, with a trophy haul than includes 13 League titles, 12 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups.

When Henry Norris decided that Arsenal needed a new manager in the summer of 1925, he could never have anticipated the impact of his next appointment. After flirting with relegation in the previous season, Chapman set about reinventing the Club with almost immediate effect, and in a broader sense helped move football from the amateur era into a professional one. In his first season at Highbury, the new manager steered the Gunners to an FA Cup Quarter Final and a second-place finish in the First Division; the highest league placing in their history. And unlike many of his contemporaries in Britain, Chapman was a fan of the continental game and counted among his friends Hugo Meisl and Jimmy Hogan, coaches of the Austrian Wunderteam of the 1930s.

In the mid '90s, they appointed another visionary in Arsène Wenger with former vice-chairman David Dein bringing him to the club in 1996 - Dein actually wanted to appoint him a year earlier before Bruce Rioch but the old school board did not want a foreign manager - and the next 20 years have been a remarkable and unforgettable period in the club’s history - with Arsenal building a reputation for playing an attractive, streamlined style of football that rivals some of the best teams in Europe while winning three league titles and seven FA Cups and boasting the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Robert Pirès, Cesc Fàbregas and Robin Van Persie in their ranks.

The club plays its home games at the Emirates Stadium, and has a bitter sporting rivalry with neighbors Tottenham Hotspur in a match termed the North London Derby, apart from a competitive rivalry against the other major clubs of the Premier League, especially Manchester United - in an affair that peaked in the late 1990s to early 2000s period.

They'll be sending out the reserves. Hope we give them an absolute bollocking like 2011.

    Team should be...

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Lindelof--Young
    ----------------Matic----------------
    -------Herrera-------Pogba-------
    Mata---------Lukaku---------Sanchez

Subs: Pereira, Jones, Darmian, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Martial

Arsenal know Wengers going and they have nothing to play for in the league.

No grey area, they'll either down tools or play with absolute freedom

    Heart says 1-0 to United

Think it'll be a fun game, a bit meaningless and with no pressure for both teams though. I think Liverpool draw today with us having one game in hand pretty much secured our second spot. Arsenal will also field a weakened team for their important EL game, so should be a pure fun to watch.

Will play the same team as today so that they forge some coherence.

We have two home games and two away games until the end of the PL season.

The home games are Arsenal and Watford
The away games are West Ham and Brighton

If we win any two we'll confirm second, which is a really good achievement considering our squad.

I also feel that by the end of this season Jose has a much better idea of the strengths and weaknesses of this squad compared to last.

Hopefully we finish nice and strongly in second and the FA Cup too. I'll see that as a successful season.

Wenger vs Mourinho. The final battle. Before the game I hope the fans give Wenger a good reception but when the game starts I hope we don't show them any mercy. They will field a weakened side so there are a lot of goals in it for us.

My early predicted 11 assuming everyone is fit:
    DDG
    Bailly Smalling Jones Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Sanchez Lukaku Martial

Really hope the Watford game is like last years Palace game, I want to see Gomes and Chong in from the start in that game

Here's hoping the Stretford's End usual treatment of Wenger is finally put aside. Though I fear that's unlikely.

If we secured second spot mathematically wise then for sure most of the first team will get a rest in this game.

SUBS - Rashford (Mata), Martial (Sanchez), Fellaini (Pogba)

    Man United 3 - 0 Arsenal
    Mata, Lukaku, Martial

Our cup final isn't until the 19th of May and the league is all but wrapped up. Hope we go out and enjoy ourselves.

Perhaps a youngster or two on the bench would be nice.

    DDG
    Darmian* Smalling Jones Young
    Herrera Matic Pogba
    Lingard Lukaku Sanchez
    * Valencia if fit

    DDG

    Valencia Jones Smalling Young

    Pogba Matic Herrera

    Rashford Lukaku Sanchez

I would quite like to see Lukaku dropped and an interchanging front three of Rashford, Sanchez and Martial. Doubt Jose will be so gung-ho though.

Give Wenger a lovely cheer before and after, but send his boys packing with one last smashing for old time's sake.

Would be a real shame if we didn't give Wenger another comfortable defeat. It's what he's used to.

3-0 to United, as we will put out a very poor side due to EL, which considering how poor we are already is saying something.

Smash them for old times sake, give a proper send off for Wenger.

    3-0

They'll be sending out the reserves. Hope we give them an absolute bollocking like 2011.

I can definitely see them fielding an under strength team, this fixture is sandwiched right in between both their Europa League matches. If they get past Atletico, they'll win the final no problem.

Will be interesting to see what team will Wenger pick. He should probably rest some key players before the second leg against Atletico but on the other hand I am sure he doesn't want to risk being trashed.

    De Gea
    Darmian--Smalling--Jones--Young
    Herrera--Matic--Pogba
    Sanchez--Lukaku--Martial/Rashford

The way we’ve been approaching big games recently I expect us to win this game without too much trouble.

    2-0
the way Arsenal have played away from home this year it is a stretch to call this a big game.

It has 0-1 Aubameyang written all over it. We're on our holidays until May 19 considering second place (and CL footy) is pretty much in the bag.

    De gea
    Young Smalling Jones Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Lukaku Sanchez
Hope we get a nice big win. End the season strongly, no more set backs.
